I was tanking PoS HC (prot paladin). Before last boss our DPS left the group. We found a substitute (ret paladin). -When we killed the boss he dropped tanking chest - which I need because I have a worse one - for DPS. Ret paladin needed it aswell, he won. I asked him if he could give it to me because the RDF HC queued him as a DPS, so it was his off spec roll. He refused and replied that he has the same rights as I do for that item. He said he will give it to me for golds which I refused.
I wanted to report him/her, but after reading "reporting player" rules for ninja looting I wasnt sure since there is no explanation of main and off spec rolling in dungeons (only in raids) - source here http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=325598
A little detail: He didnt said anything about rolling for tank as a main spec before we encountered the last boss.
Can someone please explain if DPS has the same right for tanking items as tank itself?
- If yes - paladin could need every item in dungeons basically, druid every cloth and leather and shaman everything except plate.
This is not place where you can report players, open in game ticket and explain to GM your situation with screenshots as evidence, day, time.
And yes, your explanation leads to committed ninjing
If he was queued as a DPS he was supposed to roll DPS loot. If you took a screenshot of his DPS role, your Tank role and him winning the item he will get banned easily. It is ok and I encourage you to report those kinds of players.
In-game ticket can be found under the red question mark on your micromenu -> Report problem/Talk to a GM - >
