Yeah so i got a ban again on one of my accounts. Logged on for the first time after the ban, went from org to dala to ICC for a 25hc with the guild. Had a pause for 5 min, went afk and then came back to a ban. Not been using any scripts and dont even do PvP (as they should be able to check by looking at the recent honorable kills i guess). My theory is that it is a addon causing it. I recently added a new addon called Ovale Spell Priority, which i had active on both of my accounts when the first ban wave came. I deactivated it on 1 of the accs but didnt think about it on the other and got a ban on that one account. Is there any special kind of files (like a .lua or .toc , even though theses formats are common) that one should be suspicious of if i were to check the folder of my addons? Im really frustrated since i dont really dare playing on my accounts just to get the other one banned again for a unknown reason..

Theranos, most of us think it's an addon now. Do what I and my friend did, he's also good for now - reinstall wow, add only the addons that you absolutely need and know to be safe, nothing new. Don't copy/paste WTF folder, that's where the problem is, do everything from 0.
I have skada, dbm, gearscorelite, xperl, gladius, flototem/aspect bar, gatherer, OmniCC, Prat,sexy map. Those seem to be safe.

Yeah I'm currently downloading the files again.Currently using a load of different addons (cuz downloading a trying out hehe), but my core is ElvUI, Forte, Weakauras, Grid2, Clique, Omen, Omni CC, Skada, DBM, TidyPlates and some other ones for utility. I think (as i wrote above) that one other addon that i used that could be on the list of potential suspects is the Ovale addon. Added it shortly before the first ban i think and used it on both accs that got banned. But im gonna do a recheck of my addons and remove the ones that i dont really use.

After first ban wave people were exchanging experiences in order to find common or similar factors that could be the cause.
At this point in time it is sure to say addon (alone) is the problem at least with most of the cases. However, it is not only one they differ from case to case. Oppose to popular opinion, practice showed that the fact they were downloaded from Curse or Wow Ace doesn't make them 100% safe.
Some people lost all, other only some of their account which implies it IS account specific > WTF folder (addon game settings related).
Few mods who were kind enough to help us narrow our search warned us about experimenting with addons already and possibility they could even if only theoretically, be the cause (this ofc doesn't mean every case is addon related or that every addon is potentially dangerous).
Even more, people who were previously banned and now deleted most of their addons only leaving very popular ones as well as their WTF folder did NOT get banned again. For now.

This is not an addon fault. Got few accounts with the same addons setup - only one get banned. My guildmate has only healbot addon - also get banned. Other guildmate get second ban after one day of previos, just for sitting in dalaran.
In the other hand. Many ppl get ban in the same time. So its not a human job, but some bot action. False-positive report. One guy get banned when he was offline for over two weeks.
Another strange thing. My guildmate before ban saw on chat, that his char did "/kiss" emote, but he didnt write this. So who?

After my 1st ban, I create 2 other accounts with the same addons, the first is still there, but the 2nd is banned for the same reason (script), I specify that I have changed nothing neither wow nor addon

Well, I also got banned while being offline for over a week but nobody says the ban alone has to happen while you're playing. The last part is scary, though...what if some hacker is causing the bans and instead of looking for one hacker, they simply believe we're all hackers? o.O

They just know there's something wrong, but they can't confirm it, you know why? because if they really have evidence that we are hackers its insta perma ban

Hello guys i just find out that i have private massege from above mentioned moderator who is making a warning to me that in one of my previous replies was again the forum rules. He said that i am writing this only for attention and im creating "DRAMA" and forum is not place for that. I agree it's not place for drama, but when that much people are banned for no reason there is not "drama" there is a f big problem. What do you think is this a drama movie which will end in 4weeks when most countries get out of quarantine or it will continue until ppl get back to work in maybe not 1 but 2 or 3monts. Because i star thinking due to this pupolation they are just banning ppl to get ride of players cuz they cant deal with them? What do you think are we gonna receive some attention by filling this topic with ppl who are clear and maybe they will see that promlem is not in our PC/Games or what ever. Or they will keep banning us cuz wea re telling the truth and we won't be able our game normaly like before? Take care guys!

This topic sharing your experiences and everybody can share your thoughts that "how we prevent it", for now we stay patient. and play without addons for now, we are the wave that got banned for nothing and there is people got banned for hacking/scripting because they are using it. So remind calm and chill.

Same thing happened to me 4 days ago, still waiting answer to my appeal.
Funny thing is that only thing what have changed all these years is that I bought new GPU. I have been using same addons etc like 5 years now :/

Well it happened to me 30days ago the same that happened to all of us here,got banned without any explanation or evidence of the hacks/scripts.I just didnt care about the server anymore since then,i just came to see today if they still kept baning ppl without reason,guess its true.
Ive been playing here for like 6y even before the molten down using the same addons since the start.
Like u guys i started to think that must be some change on the anti-bot sentinel to detect some addon abuse but then i went to read the T&C and got confused.

That's actually Untrue as well, the way they detected PQR users was by looking at their addons initially as was confirmed by staff here and other servers that use PQR detection to prevent scripting, same for some Battleground bots and fishboats as well.
