Black pearl drop rate

Is the drop rate of black pears alright on lordaeron? Because on wowhead it says 4% but i've opened around 250 clams and no luck so far (got 4 golden pearls and 0 black pearls). I was wondering because even on the ah black pearls go for 100g and golden pearls instead go for 5 (which are supposedly a rarer item).

Sounds about right. Whenever I wanted to find a black pearl, it was by accident, or straight to auction house.

Some days I get it in like 20 clams, sometimes I get in 40 and so on. It's not even that super rare to be honest. I used to farm it to sell for 198-250g before gold squish but meh.

I just stocked up 150 clams to open all at once I'll tell you if i get any luck this time.

2 golden pearls
4 iridiscent pearls
35 tangy clam meat
53 giant clam meat
118 zesty clam meat

i've now opened around 400 clams with no black pearl drop.

I know rng works like that sometimes, but the chance of this happening is so low that i think concern is justified here. Am i tripping? Somebody help me here
