WotLK I can't change my resolution at all

For some reason it has me locked in at 1024x648 or something like that.. and every time i try to change it from 1024 to 1920x1080

It freaks out and then i can still here the music from the game.. but now i have to alt tab to other windows and apps.. and i cant even close wow anymore.. and even with task manager it wont close.. so i literally have to sign out of windows 10.. and ive tried other resolutions but for some reason it still gets stuck.. and ive tried it like 3 times.. it used to work for me when i played this expansion like a year or two ago.. but i can't understand how to fix it.. and just get some 1080p resolution. If anyone can help that would be great.. also i hope im posting in the right place.. it is a question.. but i know its more technical..

Oh and all i can see when i try to change it to the resolution is my desktop in a strange resolution and i cant see my cursor anymore lol.. idk its kinda crazy.. If you need anymore information ask me ill try to provide it
