Site Advertising and account hacks

So recently there have been several 3rd party interference attempts to accounts across warmane. Mainly hackers trying to advertise another server or 3rd party site. This is the reasoning behind so many bans as of late. IT IS NOT Warmane's responsibility to be accountable for your account. They offer several options to protect your characters (back up data) and account log in information (2 factor authentication).

I highly suggest setting up a 2 factor Authentication security system at least, to help protect your account. I set one up upon my return after years away and I have been notified 3 times about attempted log ins that have been stopped due to the 2 factor Authentication security put in place.

Here is how it works. When you log onto the main site, go to MY ACCOUNT. Set up 2 factor Authentication. Follow the steps and complete it.

-Whenever an alternate IP address tries to access your account to log in from your standard IP, you will get an E-mail like this

Just enter the code provided, which will always be randomized, if it is you from another location. Otherwise just keep playing if you receive the e-mail because the other person attempting to log in will not be able to.

There are 2 different 2FA emails:
The one from website says "Access from new browser or location".
The one from game says "Access from new location".

Because of technical limitations of WoW client, ingame authentication sends an email even if password was entered incorrectly. So that email only means that someone tried to log in using your username, not that they know your password too.

Account backup can not be used to restore an account if something happens to it. It's only meant to be used in case Warmane loses its database and backups, like what happened to Molten. The best way of protecting your account is enabling 2 factor authentication.
