WotLK [Lordaeron] experience stopping not working as intended?

hey there, i was just wondering if there's some bugs with the dude in stormwind that can stop the experience gain for your character because i disabled it, my xp bar vanished but i still receive the "got xxxx experience" messages instead of the intended gold for the passed on experience

Check if you get increased amount of money from quests, could be just a visual bug.

just checked it, i got the message that i've gained 9550 experience and didn't get a single copper.
i just checked back in sw by reenabling xp gain and at least i didn't really get any xp but still, the missing gold is kind of a bummer considering i'm going to do a crapton of lvl60 quests (t0.5 q-series, aq20/40 and dozens of reputation ones)
