Cash on delivery email scam

Hi, I received the email that appears in the screenshot and without knowing that I would lose 611 gold I clicked it. I am new to WoW and English is not my native language, I did not know I would lose 611 gold by opening the email. Is there any chance to get the gold back? Is it legal to send these emails?

You didn't know that when the mail tells you "Taking this item will deduct 611 gold from your bag" it will take 611 gold from you?
I don't think this instance of it is bannable considering it's an actual item that he CODed you without some scamming message. Bannable cases are when some1 pretends to be a staff member and tells you you'll get 2.5k gold when you take the satchel but instead you send him 2.5k.
