    Best possible FPS

I have 32 gb RAM, 8 cores processor, 240hz gsync monitor connected to my rtx 2060 super. My fps varies from 100 to 180 and it jumps all the time.
Is there any particular reason why i cant play this 10 year old game on 200 fps?
I literally have no problem in running any game on ultra settings, but here something goes south and i dont know how to fix that. Send help.

you proly will get limited by game engine anyways at some point, with your current system only thing which can increase fps is cpu single core performance. (aka make them faster) Even with 1080 your fps will depend on cpu speed only

WoW uses as many cores as necessary automatically since 3.2.2. if you set that affinity line in config to "0"(default i guess).
WoW uses 2GB RAM(you can make it 3GB).
It's old engine and after 1000 years it will run the same on PCs of that time.

Can you tell me where i can find a config file?

    inside "WTF" folder
aight, i have this, i also enabled console, just like in this thread:

    https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Console_variables

although command SET coresDetected "8" doesnt seem to be working. I've set it and if i ask the console coresDetected he gives me 8 but it didnt change anything xD

Any idea how to boost this game to 240 fps?

    I mean,
    SET processAffinityMask "0"
if it's 0 it will let os decide how many cores are needed to be used, but it wont help, CPU is hardly bottleneck, even if it would use only one core

You can set your .exe to use 3GB ram if you havn't done so already

Don't know how to boost FPS, don;t know why you even need it in a game like WoW, tearing is bad or what?

i would suggest ignore everything he said and don't waste your time, unless you are ok with placebo effects. multicore improvements starts from cata.

No, multithread optimal use by default was implemented in 3.3.2. If he has config from before that, he might have a line in config that limits on which cores it runs, I think you had to manually tune it to let it run on multiple cores.
But you are probably right, it wont give any effect, most likely it already runs on as many cores as necessary for him.

WoW 3.3.5 has like 30 active threads, but that doesn't mean it's optimised for 32 core CPUs. Most of the intensive work is done on 1 thread, the main game thread, rest are network, file io and monitoring threads. Having 8 cores or having 2 makes almost no difference for wotlk. So ye, it's an ancient game not handling new cpus that good. If you're getting over 40 in dalaran you're lucky. Raids should be fine.
