1. Questions about character selling

    Two questions:

    1) I often see people advertising gold or character sales in-game. Why? Is there a way to manually trade for lower prices or something? Or are they just advertising their listing on this site?

    2) If there is manually trading, or another way, how can I reduce the price of my characters so people actually buy them? I have a 3.2kgs 4 exalted rogue I want to sell but the minimum listing price is something absurd like 190 coins and nobody is buying it. What can I do to actually sell this character?

  2. 1. Minimum prices are given by system. There was something about "gifting back coins" thing being illegal since it can be considered as exploiting trade system, but idk how legit is that. However it's safe to assume that's a scam if you are the buyer.

    2. You can spam "gift coins back" thing and risk your arse, maybe find some sucker. But it's safe to say that your rogue is barely worth 30 coins, if it has all the stuff dual talent, max flight, 2 professions, some 10k+ gold and exalted Northrend reps.

  3. 2) The price is determined by the site, which happens to calculate all equipments on your character. This is why people often sells 'naked' characters for the minimum price of 30 coins. Since the character has no equipment, the selling point becomes stuff like equipped BoEs (these are not included in the system store, which means they don't increase the character price), skills, flying, professions and gold, which is why you see 1) people advertising characters - for example, a lv80 mage with Tailoring - Engineering, Cold Weather and Artisan Riding, BoE shoulder and 4k gold will be a far more alluring option compared to a fresh lv80 mage with nothing, considering both are sold at the same price.
