Trading chracters

I didn't realize there's an option to trade characters for coins and I have a warrior that I'm likely never going to play again.

It's not highly geared (around 5.5k) so I'm assuming I can take the items off and put the character on sale for 30 coins. Are level 80, naked characters with one profession (some achievments, around 2.4k points) and max flying being sold readily or would I be wasting my time? I'm not sure how the character market is so I'm wondering if people are buying characters like this or mostly for BiS gear and titles.

Why would anybody want to pay for 245 gear that is easily replaceable quickly or easily.

BiS items adds to value, but it's cheaper to buy a lvl 80 with BiS item than buying BiS item separately.
BoE's won't add coin value to character, thus giving it more appeal.

People buy the characters for different reasons: some for achievements; some for mounts; some for gear; some for quick start for a new character.

If the character is naked with profession(s) and max flying, it could take a bit to sell, but it will sell eventually. If you have BoE's equipped, that will quicken the sale.

I guess x2 profession would be better.

Btw, in case you are not aware, only premium account can sell on Trade (and you need to have 2-step enabled for at least 3 days)

So if I max another profession that's valuable (JC, for example) it would sell faster but regardless it should sell eventually as long as it's 30 coins?

yes, 30 coins chars is easy to sell, if it have any double spec, 280% flying
some gold or boe can speed it up

In theory yes, but it depends on what other characters on sale for 30 coins are offering. If others have the same, plus any one other thing, be it a mount, some achievement or a good name, chances are yours would stay stuck on the "eventually" until that's not the case.

Yes... If you happen to have BoE's as well, it's quite quick sale.

What people offer/expect from 30 coin characters:
As many as possible BoE's that are good for the class
Max profession(s). JC/BS/Engy/Alchemy are most wanted.
Max flying

BiS items will add to the coin price, but they're desired items anyway, some people prefer to buy their characters with BiS item or two. If you have any, definitely worth it to sell with those as well.
