I used to play here back in molten days. Many years ago... I have just returned and have seen in the chat many people getting banned for ninja looting in dungeons!?
As I'm not familiar with this can someone explain what this means? Surely it can't mean 4 choose greed and the 1 guy who's chooses need gets banned??
if you need an item that isn't for the spec you joined the rdf as, or isn't an upgrade for you, you can be banned if reported. unless all 4 other members specifically say you can roll need. full details can be found in the 3rd post of http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....=1#post2651922
Many people 'abused' the NEED roll for their own gold benefit. There were naturally a lot of pissed people, who were trying to gear via RDF. What people did was need anything they could, for the sake of profiteering. It was an issue that couldn't be looked over anymore.
Thus RDF ninja rules were implemented.
So what can you need, and when?
The role you joined in as, is considered your MS, regardless of what your actual MS is outside of RDF.
You joined as tank, you roll MS tank; you joined as healer, you roll as MS healer; you joined as DPS, you roll as DPS.
If you have to requeue, and change your role in the process, your new role is your new MS.
You should* only need items that are upgrades to your role's gear.
The OS rolling
Rolling NEED for off-spec items are allowed, ONLY IF other 4 members of the party give affirmative replies. This means your fellow RDF members will HAVE TO respond to your question: "Can I need it for OS?" if you don't see 4 confirming replies, you should NOT roll NEED as it would be against the rules.
*Here's why I'm advising NOT TO ROLL NEED for OS: There's always a catch.
One of your RDF members might say yes, and still proceed to report you. This means they take a screenshot of the event, where you NEED and WIN the item. Leaving out the question and answer part. This means when the staff receives the report, they see DPS rolling NEED on HEALER item. Which is against rules, and you get yourself banned for 5 days, if it as your 1st time. The ban is appealable, but getting a response to your ban appeal takes around the same time as the ban itself. So you can ask yourself, is your OS item worth the 5 day ban risk.
