Warmane and retail aren't the same game anymore, you cannot compare the impact of mboxers.
This is, respectfully, false. With a quick search you can find countless posts in the retail forums of players complaining of multiboxers in PvP. The exact same way as here.
The problem here is not about the economy, is about PvP. Multiboxers hurt PvP in WOTLK and they're still doing it in retail, couple that with the free to play we have here and the ever increasing skill/power of the setups and you have game disruption.
I think nobody has anything against multiboxers farming stuff or soloing raids, it's about PvP.
In fact it's just about WG since there is no other PvP content where you encounter multiboxers frequently enough to have a relevant impact on your gaming experience.

I have been playing high end PvP on Icecrown and Blackrock for past 5+ years and i think I encountered literally 2 multiboxers in Alterac Valley during this time.
Meanwhile I cannot count the amount of times I qued solo RBG just to meet 10--40 man BIS premade who spawn camp for 40 minutes just to increase HK.
It's always safe to assume people complaining about multibox PvP ale low geared low skilled players.
The fact that people complain about Wintergrasp multiboxing shows you how bad they are. The entire battleground counters player stacking but there aren't 10 players with above average intelligence and game knowledge. The battleground is played at 10% of its skillcap with people not even making vehicles but just randomly PvPing 50vs10 in the middle of nowhere.

Indeed. It's usualy the newbs who are complaining.
Skilled players know how to deal with multiboxers and competitive PvP isn't even affected by multiboxing.

There's actually the 7 man guy playing EotS and WSG very often in the evening. Besides, is WG less important?

One 7 man boxer in a PvP server pool with over 20 k players. You meet him like once in a blue moon.
And yes, WG is less important because it's not competitive PvP. It's mostly played by newbs for the easy honor. Nobody realy takes it serious.
Would be a whole different story if multiboxers would dominate the arena ladder.

One serial killer in an area with 20k people. You meet him like once in a blue moon.
And yes, the special Olympics are less important because it's not as competitive as the real Olympics. They're mostly played by disabled people for easy honor. Nobody really takes it serious.

Hopefully you see the flaws in your argument now. Just because something is rare does not mean it should be allowed to happen and just because something is slightly different (call it a variant) does not reduce its qualities and importance.

Uhm, first of all the active PvPing population is a small fraction of the overall. Some people newly approaching PvP can and are actually discouraged by seeing a multiboxer, moreso in WG or BGs.
Also I wouldn't really say that WG or even Wpvp is less competitve than arena, it is just a differend form of PvP, and surely not a lesser important one. One thing I can agree with though, WG stops being competitive when your team gets shotted by a 25x multiboxer chain lightning/typhoon.
Lets see if the MB moderator does not delete my post, and allows me to express my opinion once more. I do not totally disagree with multiboxing as long as it is done for PvE purposes, no machine to complain huh? But for PvP its a totally fail, it literally ruins the whole PvP experience and destroys all the fun in PvP that a regular user can have. A regular user already have enough to deal with a bunch of 6.5K+GS SM warrs, dks and pallies on unbalanced pvp matches but now you have to face as well this people for which you cannot compete at all its just worthless. Why it is allowed on WarMane the answer is simple: money. Having these MB is quite good business for WarMane as they just keep donating to build these auto-controlled bots and flex how strong they are with no competiton at all. So just to close my post and some final words there is a need to regulate this thing already and if you are going to follow the Retail example and way, then do as Blizzard is doing right now (at least they finally open their eyes) on this matter.
would they not be equally discouraged by seeing a 25 man premade ?
Very little people (statistically, almost none) resorts to external programs, either because they don't like it as a concept or because their computer isn't powerful enough, while everybody can make a premade. Everybody can see that one thing is part of the game, the other is not really.
There are also things that a premade cannot do compared to a multiboxer. Casting a skill at the exact time is a clear advantage, since it doesn't allow the enemy to heal, and multiboxers take advantage of this possibility by stacking the same class several times.
A human premade couldn't ever do this, mainly due to latency and the machine-like coordination it requires, even if some people was crazy enough to stack few classes in a premade. It's something that realistically works only with multiboxing softwares.

i know you didn't mean it this way, but that comes across as a "i can't/won't do it so i don't want you doing it either" kind of deal.

even if it takes a few seconds for the premade to fire off their attacks, it's still very likely going to kill you. the only thing that really stands a chance against a good and coordinated premade, is another premade. i don't see how you can hate boxers, and not hate premades just as much. both have the odds stacked in their favor.
imo the premade would be more of a problem since they can easily split up to cover multiply points, where as a boxer is stuck to 1.

Really? Then how does it come that Warmane is the highest populated wotlk realm with queue on daily basis?
When ppl are so discouraged from multiboxing then why don't they prefer to play on one of the many privat servers out there that don't allow it?
Ppl are either fine with it or they don't really care. There is only a small but very loud minority that keeps complaining but even those sad ppl continue to play here anyway.
