A fine solution, except forming premades just to enjoy battlegrounds was not part of the original 3.3.5a experience. There is also nothing random about Random Battlegrounds when one faces a premade 90% of the time and loses 80% of the games.

Not to ruin your memories but tools like AV Enabler were available during retail Vanilla, so people can join in bigger groups. Preamdes were and always will be a thing of any MMO. It was one of the core ideas to provide ground for people to play together no matter the type of activity.
Its a fairly recent thing that people have been becoming more and more disconnected from other people and prefer to roam solo (it sure was a thing always, but its becoming a trend even more now)

My memory is fine. Frequency of occurrences does matter. A simple example would be multi-boxing. It was available on retail during WotLK, however, it is nowhere nearly as prevalent as it is here. The situation with premade is very similar.
Many like to talk about how premades support the social aspect of this game. I argue to the contrary. Premade groups tend to bully their opponents into submission through graveyard farming, and often purposely delay the completion of objectives with the intent of prolonging their opponents' suffering. Occasionally, when someone within or on the same side of the premade group tries to speak up or work on the objectives, they get ostracized, threatened, or falsely reported for being AFK. While your premades may not behave this way, the majority of premades do. It is ironic how premades that exhibit such anti-social behaviors are actually to be considered to be social and normal.
if a premade is communicating between themselves they're still being social. being social doesn't have to include everyone.
My point is this: The collective behaviors of these "social groups" are mostly anti-social, and hurts the community as a whole. Joining a premade to be social is like joining a gang to enjoy the camaraderie of bullies. The analogy is not perfect, but it highlights the problem with PVP culture.
my experience is totally the opposite of yours, my group is being nice and all and all you randos are constantly writing ******s omg wtf in chats, not to mention you zerg around the map not doing any objectives most of the time. But hey you don't see me ranting about it.
eh, depends on the premades purpose. ignoring obectives to farm hk's, then sure that hurts. i never bg'd enough to see that happen very often. most of the coordinated groups i noticed were doing objectives/trying to win the bg.
Your experience is very much in the minority. Thank you for sharing nonetheless.
@dccct , something irrelevant to the current topic, but would you mind sharing your armory :)
You have not BG'd enough then. But to be fair, I've had some good experience with premades, too. Unfortunately, the bad ones overshadow the good ones by a long shot.
It is disgusting man... I just wanted to do some BG to be able to join Soloq (as per blackrock requirement) and I am fully starter gear. Had to face a premade of bis players from Icecrown while my team is all starter gear or below. One warrior with 2 healers on his back swinging around killing everyone, literally 3v15 easy mood.
I think they equip bad gear and que, then change gear inside BG... seriously its killing the fun all at once.
What I don't get is - people playing few hours, having not that great gear, not that great skill, no teamplay or tactics, no comminication; then they lose against exact opposite of them where every player is geared, skilled, knows what to do and whole team is on the same page. Surprise omg. What did you expect, we are small little irrelevant footsoldiers in this game, only way to win is working together. Of coarse they will send one warrior with 2 healers, laughing their arses off in Discord how whole enemy team is trying to kill him instead of doing something, sneaking away, taking objectives, some cunning.. anything. Nah they run in the brick wall with their head and cry how it hurts on forums.
This type of example goes to show how difficult it is to balance battlegrounds when you include premades of any sizes. I've seen premades as small as a group of two dominate smaller battlegrounds like Warsong Gulch, where all it takes is just a few decent players to tag along with the healer + DPS combo (usually Awarr + Hpal or DK + Hpal) to push all the way to the enemy graveyard. This is hardly a surprise if you have twinked or paid attention to twinking during the two-bracket days, when all that was needed was to keep the average item level under a certain threshold. Back then, a single twink could make or break a team, and it was practically impossible to balance the game while they existed. But I have to say, the new bracket system, even with its faults, has significantly reduced the likelihood for this type of gear imbalance to occur on a team level.
Highly unlikely. The bracket system counts every equipment you own, including the ones inside your bag and bank. There was report of at least one workaround, but there was enough risk involved that I doubt many actually practiced it.
I personally do think the warmane team does absolutely care about the PvP side of the server... but to an extent... When it comes to BG's tho haha ur out of luck..... I still heavily pvp on here like i have since 2010 but that doesnt mean i have to like it. Molten will be molten. Solo BG ques will for sure **** on u sometimes for sure. ...
Nothings changed people come on! Lol we still got wrath shmourne paladins one shotting people and bot premades in bgs
xD
Still will be my number 1: wrath server now and forever :)
