I've lately noticed that a lot of people have started to do a really, really dumb annoying and almost curse word attractive tactic on the AH that includes placing a higher then average buyout for items, but placing the bid to 1 copper.
It's really dumb, filles the AH with false prices and is just annoying to click through for someone without an AH addon.
What are your thoughts?

It's been like that since they made sorting blizzlike few years ago. Pretty annoying. But well, if someone puts in the effort to cancel auctions before they expire, leave themselves vulnerable to people they annoy - it's well earned, wouldn't you agree? Risk reaps the reward.
Howto combat this: Bid on all their auctions 15-20% under market value(prefferably to bump their auctions to second page), either they lose gold by letting expire or they lose gold by paying 5% of your bid cancellation fee in addition to losing deposit. Burned many of these dudes like this and made a nice profit in the same time(when they run out of gold to pay cancellation lmao).Edited: March 22, 2021

I made an addon in Classic that bid on all of these auctions. Many times they forgot to cancel and I made a good buck. I have to think of porting it.

/run SortAuctionItems("list", "buyout")
This simple macro will sort the items on AH by buyout and NOT bid. You have to click it each time you log in tho.

Auctioneer addon also works. You can sort by highest/lower bid, buyout, price, and buy total (stacks).
