Why do I find 2 different versions of Heroic Bloodsurge, Kel'Thuzad's Blade of Agony, one with 539 gs and one with 551? Also how come people can get the red socket bonus while using a yellow gem? I 'm a new player so the gem mechanics are not something I know a lot about

There is the 25 normal version, which has a item level of 271 and there's the 25 heroic version, which has the item level of 284. As for the gems, they can get the bonus by using a RED gem or an ORANGE gem, which is the combination of red and yellow; the orange gems are called "Ametrine" and offer a 50/50 cut of stats between most red & yellow combinations.

Enchanting an item increases its gearscore.
What comes to gems matching sockets. There are hybrid gems that counts as two different colors.

I 'm pretty sure it 's a yellow gem in a red socket. It 's the one that adds 34 resilience

It doesn't activate socket bonus, it's just visual bug on armory.
