WotLK Transfert a caracter from another server

I've just create an account, and a new caracter, everything seems to be OK :)
I'd like to know if it's possible to transfert caracters from another server
I've been looking on the forum but dit not find the way to do it.

Character transfer from another server to here is not possible. Ever wondered why? Wouldn't be fair, if you could transfer lvl 80 character with full BiS gear bought from a vendor.

There's certainly global channel. It's heavily spammed though. You can join it by typing "/join global" in chat without quote marks.
