It is.
Unless you are going for high end PvE, in which case most guilds of that level require you to have Engineering, and/or perfect knowelge of boss mechanics, depending on yourself and your prefrences.
Tailoring and jc provide the best stats if i'm not mistaken.
However, as mentioned above, Enginering is pretty much mandatory in end-game. (And also is really usefull)
In that case jc+eng would be best imo.
