Why be a snowflake in the Internet? It's pointless to take offense or try to change views of people you don't know.

Nope.
If I witnessed some, screenshot and report and /ignore.
Yes. You can deal with harassment/racism quite well by yourself. If it continues (by a player) reporting with screenshots will get the person temporary ban.
Social aspects are far better in guilds. Harassment and racism are rarely tolerated in guilds.

This is the nature of life, there will always be racist people. It can't be snuffed out. You can't control people, the way they think or the things they say as hard as you may try. They are just words at the end of the day, don't take it to heart and move on with your life. People getting so hung up over this stuff and it's more pathetic then the people who say it. Showing signs that it affects you, even by making posts like this ultimately gives them more power as harmless as you intended this post to be. There is no such thing as safe environment as long as human beings are around. We are regressing thinking we can make "safe spaces" instead of teaching people to be stronger. Yea it's stupid and they should be banned for it but there are tools at your disposable to deal with these things. It's called the ignore list. You don't need some sort of support group for the mean things some 14 yr old said to you in a video game. If you actually have the time to be worried about the "mean words" you have bigger problems in your life.

If I, a grown man start screaming insults at you from the top of my lungs, acting racist in a video game - Am I the issue or you the issue for thinking im acting like a manchild? You don't have to like "safe spaces" but they exist everywhere, i doubt you call your boss the n-word or tell the local person working at the grocery store he is a debil piece of ****. If you do that, you are considered a scummy person who probably has some sort of mental issues by everyone around you.

If you chose to ignore social convensions and act like a neanderthal in the game you can get banned, its not about creating a safe space its about not having losers run amok acting in a way that society (and the people who run the server) have deemed unacceptable. If you don't like it but a majority of players do, then you are probably the issue.

It is a safe environment. No one can physically hurt you. You have to learn to understand that these are just words to make you feel uncomfortable, on purpose. There is an ignore function, and if you feel you need to use it, use it. It works well. As for this server being safe? yes, it is quite safe. Odds are, nobody here knows where you live, nor will anyone attempt to find you, but if they do, as I said before, you can block them. This is how you deal with racism in real life as well.

This person deals with it like an adult. A prime example of tolerance, action, and reaction. Very well said, and thank you for making it so clear.

In life you will deal with crappy people. Crappy people will lash out in unique ways. When they are not in range of being physically assaulted they turn up the lashing out. Old video called "real life vs the internet" using halo characters gives examples of the amplification of lashing out. The stupid things people freak out about in game and irl. Just baffling.

Is your work a safe space because you cant call your boss an N word, yes or no? I doubt you'll answer this question because that would mean any sort of social space where you cant lash out like a toddler is a safe space, making most spaces in society safe. When we say safe space we dont generally mean "places where its unacceptable be socially incompetent or inept", you probably know this but it would absolutely decimate your argument.

It is in this servers best interest to create a community that people want to stay in. I love how you project some sort of social justice warrior-esque personality on me, when the fact is that my next forumban is permanent. I am pretty far from PC and how ive acted on the forums is pretty much contrary to how the mods would like me to act. The difference is i don't ***** and complain about it. They are doing their job, this is their community and they do with me as they please.

You on the other hand act ENTITLED to act however you want on a private platform that wants to make money.

This is quite literally their job, if you dont like it then you dont like the rules of this server, too bad i guess.

No matter what personal opinion anyone might have regarding how you "should" deal with it, we don't tolerate racism, it's against our rules, and reports made with proper evidence are acted on.

I think I'm interpreting that in a different way than you intended.
I don't remember seeing bans for country bashing or calling people virgins. It would be cool to see something like this to thin out some toxicity.
