Hello there, hope you are all doing well.
I come to you today with a strange problem that I am not sure if any other player experienced.
I am playing Shaman on WotLK and every time I activate my lightning shield a fast ticking sound begins playing.
It is very frustrating since the lightning shield is a spell that I have on most of my gameplay so it is very taxing on my ears to have this repeating sound.
If I activate my Water shield, the ticking goes away. If I activate the lightning shield the sound comes right back.
If I change settings in sounds (e.g. "Death Knight Voices" "Headphone mode" "Enable Reverb") the sound goes away temporarily until I activate my lightning shield again.
But nothing I do can make the sound go away for good.
I am out of ideas on how to fix this.
If someone could help me pls I would be so grateful as this is "bug" just putting me off playing WoW.

Did you try redownloading WoW? Could be some sound file got corrupted or something.

I actually didn't remember to do that. I re-downloaded WoW as you suggested. The problem still persists, unfortunately.

Not sure what good will that do since it's a bug that only you experience, but it's worth giving a shot. I honestly have no idea what else it could be since redownloding didn't work. Never heard of this issue.

Nah, putting it in the Bug Tracker won't do any good, I can't see anything happening besides it getting dismissed.
That's for server bugs, things that need to be fixed on our side, which this wouldn't be the case.

I had come across those threads before posting this one, and unfortunately, they don't fix my problem either. I have fondled all sorts of different audio settings to no avail. I guess I could try to update the drivers or uninstall Dell Audio altogether and see if that fixes it.

Disable any audio enhancement effects you may still have on via control panel.

Everything is disabled for Playback and Microphone. I am even only working with Microsoft HD audio just to be on the safe side and still the same issue.

I did some more testing and the sound goes away also when the shield expires. When I put up a new one it comes back.
