Since there's a massive influx of threads asking about "missing gold", I decided to make this thread in hopes of cutting the "Lost gold" threads for the upcoming week(s).
This was already announced long ago on the front page, but it seems most people still have missed it for whatever reason.

In short:
All in-game gold is cut in half. This is a procedure Warmane has come up with to keep the economy in check.
Yes, half of your gold, no matter where it is (or was), was cut in half by Warmane staff.
Prime example:
If you had 10 000 gold on March 6, it is now 5 000.

Hmm , why they doing this on new players too , like me ... I dont know how to earn gold expect farming from mobs , Doungeons and selling items on NPCs aaand they take this gold from me ... this was so hard to get this 3 800 gold and now must keep farming hard again .... Looks amazing . Sorry for my bad English . Im just pissed off .

Yeah I actually thought I got hacked. I don't like that at all. I'm sorry I missed the announcement, but I'm a very casual, yet regular player and I farmed my approx. 1700 gold myself through lvling.
Is there any chance to get the gold back? Like I have one charakter on Lordaeron who's not even lvl 60 yet. I was really looking forward actually to get dual specc soon. Thanks in advance.

I had farmed up almost 4000 gold so I could learn flying now I'm sitting with 1992 gold after completing a quest and selling a few items so if this is the case it is bull****. Just my honest opinion and feelings. This happened over night

There's no way to get the gold back, except for playing the game. Getting gathering profession and collecting some lower level herbs should get you your gold back soon enough.
Also, a personal opinion. Dual spec isn't worth it until you get to 80, and your main spec is decently geared (past avg 232 ilvl).
If you're level 80 already, doing quests here and there can get you that gold back quick. With appropriate reputation being exalted, the artisan flying's cost drops to 4200. No need to spend the full 5K on flying alone.
