Realms Rated BG system

Hi,

Would it be possible to implement a rated bg system on the wotlk servers?
With wotlk classic set to be released at end of year, i recall some of the staff mentioning they had an ace up the sleeve to make warmane stand-out. I think implementing such a system (which was only available starting in cata) would be quite unique and garner some deep interest from the pvpers :)

What do the players think?
What does the warmane staff think? I'd like to hear some of their thoughts, i recall this was being discussed a while back, but not sure if it was discarded.
Are there severe system limitations that would prevent this? Would this require a client update?

This was already suggested..multiple times - here and on reddit.
You can find all the threads by using the search option.
Implementing such feature will require a lot effort and the cons will outweight pros - personal rating so the players are flexible to play whenever and with whoever they want, additional title rewards and the most important - dealing with more wintrading especially from the instant server which is kept alive for the only reason that it makes arena queue and random battlegrounds one idea more alive so I don't think it will ever happen
If anything - implementing personal rating and removing arena teams is the best thing which can be done who really cares about battlegrounds when MoP was alive people barely played 20-30 per season because you beat the same guild multiple times then they stop playing

A- Under which key word should I search for the main post in the forums? I just spent close to 30 mins going over 10 pages of search results for threads under key word "Battlegrounds" and couldn't find a serious thread regarding the staff's decision not to consider ever implementing ranked or rated battlegrounds.

B- Personal rating? They've done it already with soloq. It can be done with rated bgs too, if they can find a placeholder or allow users to maybe also replace the 5s bracket team with a "Rated battleground" team. This way you can choose between either soloq, 5s, or rated battlegrounds. The shell design is there, they can leverage what they've done for soloq already for the personal rating system.

A - just google "Warmane rated bg", nobody uses the search feature because it's weird IMO
b - sure it could, but they combined BGs to make them more lively, splitting the population again to rated and unrated wouldn't make sense, nor would enough people be queing rated BGs IMO

1st - how you decided it will require a lot of effort ? We already have soloq. For sure much of the logic can be used in implementing rated bgs.
2nd - as we already have soloq, again personal rating but for BGs will not be something completely new
3rd - it not necessary to make the rated bgs to be able to que with premade. It can be made to be able to que only ALONE. Also its not necessary to be made for all bgs. It can be made just for WSG, AB, EOS (just example)
4rd - the 3rd point significatly reduce the wintrading problem.

The staff just dont want to implement it, it is not because it will require alot of effort and the cons will be more than the pros.
There are already other "places" where such feature is implemented and it is working great.

Rated battlegrounds are team/premade fights, leader-to-leader challenge, without possibility of some random joining you mid game and **** around.
Where is the difference between what you're suggesting and current random battlegrounds if you're able to queue alone?

SoloQ is simply skirmish, but the difference is that you earn/lose rating and this rating is stored:
Seasonal - Arena Team (5v5)
Lifetime - Statistics (5v5)

That's why if you want to play regular 5v5 team fight you have to disable SoloQ and vice versa

How you decided that ? With the same logic, soloQ is also usless because some ****** can join and troll the game. These things cannot be completely removed.
I already told you, there are already another "places" where rated bgs are implemented, check their rules.
EDIT: also it may be option to que with group BUT with limited number of players not for 15 players bg to que with 15 players premade. Like soloQ you can que duo que, but you will face another duo que.

And ? As you probably know 5v5 has been always dead, so is it some big problem ?

Playing SoloQ - you're playing skirmish and winning/losing affects the 5v5 team you're captain of and this is implemented for people who want to earn Arena Master or simply practice 3v3 without waiting 1 hour in Q or leaving current team that's why you're able to reset your CR in first place if queue start to take way too long

Also you might be right about the battleground population getting fractured between those that q ranked vs unranked. However, IMO i think that over time it will correct itself & balance out, the same as soloq has with 3s and so on.
