I come from WoW Classic and have now decided to play the WotLK content. Now I'm wondering which realm is better suited for this since I'm a complete beginner at WotLK content. Is Frostmourne more for experienced players who want to clear quickly or is the realm also recommended for newcomers, or should I rather go to Icecrown, where things may be quieter, but some already have the content cleared? Or maybe I should go to Lordaeron because it´s nearly on the original WotLK?
Frostmourn: a x7 seasonal realm where you can clear every content on release.
(I've heard that the content is harder as original but i can't confirm)
Lordaeron: a x1 "blizzlike" realm where raid are tuned to be more challanging. For example, bosses have more hp.
Icecrown: a x7 wotlk realm without any tuning.
Getting into raiding on Lordaeron is harder since you require more gear to compensate for the tuning.
I've heard some ghoat stories about Frostmourn not being beginner friendly, again i can't confirm.
It sounds like a nice experience to go trough each patch tho.
Icecrown is full of noobs and veterans.
You me and anyone else will find a place in raids etc.
Note that every realm has guilds that will take you in.
I'm not gonna reccommend any realm to you.
I'll just say this; i HATE leveling so i play icecrown haha
Frostmourne has certain level of competitiveness. With limited time that Frostmourne has as seasonal, people don't really wanna screw up raid locks to hinder their gearing progression. Though there are beginners there too. If you're quick to learn, you could end up in a guild that clears all the raids. Which has its appeal.
Icecrown has competitiveness too, but it's mainly with soulless LoD/RS25HC farming guilds, who thinks playing with them should be considered a career. It's close to career as you're expected to be available and ready to raid 5 days a week. Other than that, more casual players are clearing content too without such elitist ego's breathing on your neck.
Lordaeron I can't recommend with its tuned content.
