WotLK characters have no names

i havent played in a while and re downloaded. when i go to log in my characters have no names and the logins fail. i cant use the rename service because the characters dont pop up in the drop down. they do show in the armory

Try logging in again. Initially you might see the error but when you try to log in with the character again, you should see the option to choose a new name in game.
