    Understanding the term of ninja

    Hi!

Something is not clear to me about the term "ninja". I would appreciate an explanation.

If I join to RDF, and select need roll for every item whenever I can select need, just to win the disenchant material for myself, or sell the item in AH. Is that ninja?

    Thx,

Yes, for multiple reasons, and you would 100% get a ban when someone reported you.

Kekw, what makes you better than ithers, if you think you've got right to Need for DE? And don't start about "i've leveled my profession", you won't even be able to go and clear RDF without other players

  4. So, needing everything to disenchant them is way far forbidden. Ok.

What about bind on equip items, that I can sell in AH or send to my alts? Is that okay to need them for all the characters on my account? (I might have some..)

Appreciate clear answers to understand where the limit is between fair gaming and ninja.

  5. You only should press "need" for items that are upgrades for the current MS role of you character.
    For everything else press "greed".

For sell, for your offspec or for offspec of your cousin's alt, you should press "greed"

  6. Hmm, not good enough.

If I am gearing a druid, that mostly ends up in a tanking role. That is how druid gear their healer in early gaming (before raiding). So, hitting greed to stuff that I need just because it is no "MS" in that group setup. The other player is gonna sell stuff to a town vendor that is probably a rare drop.

I do not think that is fair.

  7. If you want to gear a Healer specialization, queue with only the Healer role selected.
Or go with a full pre-made group where everyone is fine with you taking that gear.

It's only fair for people to stick to their MS rolls. Otherwise everybody could claim they have X and Y off-spec, but the items they "needed" ends up to vendors, or destroyed for materials. This is why MS is need, OS/DE greed.

What would happen if you're a tank, and DPS wants to roll tank items, because they need it in order to raid? Can you honestly say that you're fine with it, or would it upset you that somebody else is after "your" gear? What if there's one more who wants to do the same? And yeah, ofc they will still need any DPS item upgrades too.

In RDF, you should only consider upgrading items for your chosen role.

  9. Fine, I will get peace with that. I guess, there is no better rule that can work :(

  10. Very recently I was in an icc25 8/12hc run. The tank happened to be a person I met couple years ago. DK tank his spec in the raid was. He "mS cHaNgEd" to frost dps simply so he could "legally" steal other people's gear(people who are actually playing the spec they want to roll for). He also rolled shadowfrost shards even though he already had a donormourne, because he wanted an achievement(the stupidity of it is what tilts me).

So don't give me that crap about offspec. If you want something for your healer spec while you're tanking, and you know there's an enchanter in the party, "open your mouth" and say "can you please not disenchant X gear, I need it for offspec". After that, if you still see your so precious offspec gear turn into enchanting materials, stop queuing as tank, bite the pillow and queue as a healer. And wait however long it takes to get into a group.

  11. One more thing: items like the Damaged Necklace (JC token item), and Book of Glyph Mastery (Inscription recipe item).

Should they also fall under the rule of the main spec? For example, that player has got that profession leveled high enough to use that item, or not.

@shhnedo: Would not be much of a problem if the server would handle the greed roll with higher priority than the disenchant roll. Does it?

There's no MS/OS profession, so they're fine to be needed (imo). I think some items are limited to only have need as an option if you have the profession. Lock boxes are the same, as players may have BS or alt rogue to open them. Quest items are the same, if you haven't done the quest, you're fine needing on them.

Don't think that's possible, don't think that's fair either. Nor would it have any point. Instead of choosing DE, enchanter could just greed too and then proceed to DE.

  13. It's not hard to understand that both Greed/Disenchant end up being a personal profit. Be it sold to vendor, used for offspec, destroyed for materials. How about you stop being so greedy? Not everything you see drop in the game must go directly to your bags on day 1...

  14. me see shiny drop me wants it, me no get shiny drop me angery
