New to Warmane. What the future will bring from the 26th September going forward
Hello everyone.
I came to Warmane from retail a few days after playing and paying on retail since Pandaria, as a company Blizzard don't deserve my money or time investment.
It seems that as of this moment that we know that Wotlk classic will be live on the 26th September i may have come here at what maybe will be a harsh moment for Warmane, well it seems according to some people talking in game chat, eager to go to Blizzard servers since it will be a fresh piece of content.
Also it's funny in a way and also sad to see that people that apparently have been playing here for a long time, even years seem to be eager to ditch this server to go to Blizzard servers, i mean you can do so obviously but on your way out to say that this server that suited you for such a long time now is crap because of bad scripting, bugs, community or that only the poor will stay here and so on seems to be that it is an argument of a person that has little integrity and respect and also gratitude towards a place where you could spend time playing your favorite WoW expansion, for free you you chose to.
Personally, i try to ignore as much toxicity or bs from gaming communities, every game has them even Warmane but it's not he server's or staff's fault, it's just a bunch of people that for them the best way to spend time and energy is to be toxic towards the game and the other people, but i can't keep feeling some concern for Warmane's future, it took me a few days of research to find this server that many consider the best for Wrath, i never played on private servers before and this was the first one i picked but i think that a hit in the population will happen no matter what i just wish that not as much as to the server has to close doors due to insufficient players.
I don't know how active staff or gm's are here or if the actively fix bugs and stuff, the server if i'm not wrong is a follow up to Molten WoW which existed while retail Wrath was the live expansion back in the day which had the highest number of subscriptions playing WoW and Molten WoW was around and in a way still is with the name of Warmane and it survived, i don't think that a massive number of people will go back to retail to play Classic Wrath but i have to wait and see.
Regarding Warmane, since i'm new and still getting my feet wet, i was wondering how active the staff is here regrading issues that the game may have like bugs and stuff and how swift they are to address those?
Apparently what is or was one of the core issues in private servers is the scripting, npc's talking to each other, for example in retail if you do the Wrath content and you play as a death knight in the starting zone one comes across the lich king itself and he has some nice and cool voice acted dialogues, i wonder if that stuff happens here the same ways as in retail?
I'm really sorry for the long post.
To the people that are eager to play classic wrath i wish you the best and that you find fun in your travels there but please don't go and then say that only the low life ones stay in places like this, that's a ****ty move from someone that probably has spent a long time even years in this server and where you didn't pay a monthly fee.
Probably some of those that are walking away will come back at some point.
Also remember this, the same way that happened with Classic, TBC Classic, Wrath Classic ill not be the WOTLK that you played back in the day, but i guess we will see how long the classic hype lasts.

Yup. Those who run to WotLK Classic will be back once they grow tired of the constant changes and flavor of the month builds. As someone who took a long break from Warmane (over one year), I came back to find several bugs fixed. That is only from what I can tell through casual gameplay. The bug tracker will give you a better idea on how quickly bugs are fixed here. Warmane will do fine, especially given Blizzard's tendency to fall flat on its face given enough time.
The game is fine and fixed, for example the dk starting zone works perfectly, with lich king animations and scenes. Haters will say everything don't pay too much attention to them.
Warmane will survive, it will get maybe a 10% population dent for few months, then it will come back to normal once Blizzard will have ruined wotlk classic too.
The Warmane servers are generally rated good by me and my mates that play it, it has pros and cons like everything does
I play on the official BC Classic servers and I play Warmane LotLK servers, I will play both when the official releases
Warmane
Pro's:
Dungeon finder can be great but queues can be long and easily waiting over 30 minutes for the pre WotLK content
Loads of QoL features like increased draw distance for mobs and npc's
Auction House is decently priced, even as a brand new starter just sell a few stacks of raw materials and you'll be golden
Staff are active and ban waves happen multiple times throughout the day so tickets get looked at very quickly
Community for your faction is ok, you can get help fairly easily
Cons:
Community in general is leaning to the toxic side, especially in dungeons if you use the dungeon finder
Ninja Rule, through personal experience this is in the con side of things, it's a good idea but me and my friends have been banned incorrectly over the years and having to appeal is a pain in the butt, people are quick to report and the admins are quick to ban, I can see why they have this rule and I can see the positives but it isn't implemented as well as it can be
While they're pro's and con's for either they both have a place to exist
