1. Did I get banned for rolling "Need" ?

*excuse my english, i'm not american*

First of all i'm not here to contribute to my ban appeal, but because I'm genuinly curious on "why" i got banned..

My friend and I got to Warmane private servers not too long ago and i had the idea of starting where i left of all these years ago.
So i planned out to donate for a full Relentless Gladiator set with PVE weapons to start my adventure (without getting one-shot on every flypath)
but still have room for growth and not instantly buy FULL-BiS Gear from the get-go.

I also came up with the idea of "earning all my pve items myself" together with my friend, so we started doing dungeons together.
I did "NEED" on 5-10 or so items max in a spread of like 20 dungeons? which were good for my Rogue's PVE OFFSET but nothing expensive or crazy.. with a maximum of like 2epics from Random HC. and nobody in the group needed on the items anyway.. if someone would have asked i'd gladly have given them the item or the gold..

Now i suddenly get a 5 day ban for aparently "NINJA LOOTING IN A DUNGEON"

Is it against terms of service to need on off-spec items if you think you need them? i'm not a Uber-wow-expert so i could be wrong on some items but i did not go out of my way to "ninja loot" an item away from somebody.. i didn't use any sort of tricks or scams.. i mean.. a 5 day ban for needing on a random blue fist-weapon or something that nobody needs seems kinda rough in my opinion but again, it is my personal opinion.

I'm genuinly curious on when and under what circumstances i can use the need button in future dungeons..
and if there are rules about needing for Off-spec and stuff like that, where can i find these? ..

    Cheers for the read

  2. I dunno how to say it in not offensive way, but your cluelessness/naive is amazing. There is thread with exact same situation just several lines below yours, you could even see it before making yours
    https://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=451606

And yes, since when "needing" on OS without even communicating was something considered to be normal? Taking into account that there is no way to inspect persons bags/banks?
That's one of reasons why Warmane have strict rules about ninjas in RDF.

P.S. you can drop your story about "path" and "donations", nobody interested in it, neither it will benefit you in terms of special trearment

  3. Need for off-spec IS ninja, you have the same right to the item as the others in your group.
With option "need" you just stole them opportunity to get vendor/AH gold, or even screw someone's upgrade.

you have the right to press "need" only for the current spec. in that dungeon,

Don't roll "need" for your off-spec, your alt or your friend.

You may ask group if you like to "need" something:
if the others in the group say that they are ok with that, you can press need.
if one of them say no, that means no, you can't need.

if you think you are wrong banned, you have ban appeal option, which is usually waited much longer than the ban expiration.

-Wrathful is high end gear, nobody buying relentless with coins...

  4. I'm not looking for any kind of Special treatment.
And i didn't check the forum post you're talking about because the title did not seem anywhere close to my particular issue or question.
And its not that i want people to be "interested" in my story lol its just to shape the situation.
I was clearly needing on an item but it was way below my current one.
And its not really an OS when all i wanted was to farm some PVE items because all my own items are PVP related.

You don't have to worry about offending someone when giving them your personal opinion so its okay.
I did inspect the players in my party before needing on items.

  5. Thanks NordicShade, i understand alot more on why i got banned now thanks to your explanation
i should Greed roll on items i want for the spec i'm not currently using. i thought needing it was okay if checking with the group first.

    Thanks for the info.

And i didn't want to buy the BiS wrathfull gear from the get-go thats why i went with relentless. donating isn't the issue i want to progress by myself instead of buying the BIS gear with coins.

  6. i thought needing it was okay if checking with the group first.
That is okay, but you have to make sure everyone agrees with it. Keep in mind that someone not saying anything isn't them agreeing.
