1. Battleground Que system improvement

    Dear Warmane!

First of all, thank you for your work. I really appreciate what you guys do. But...

The battleground system doesn't work as it suppose to. I been playing here for years. I'm fan of PvP.
Back in the days I had good rates and gear in the arena. At a point, your system, how it gathers players to battle 10v10, 15v15 or 40v40 sometimes its dissapointing. I'll explain my point of view:

In WSG, in alliance they got 4 heals, some of them are 5.5k+
In horde we dont have a single one. Even if we got, its undergeared.
The other thing: CASTERS ON BGS.
With 4 heals they got 4 casters and 1-2 meele damage mostly tank specs.
In horde, I see mostly undergeared meele players. Our rooster is filled with DK-s, Warr-s, Ret Pally-s.
Today if I check the rooster of the BG I simply leave and take the debuff, becasuse constant losing like 20 BG-s in a row is just not entertaining.

If I were an expert developer like you guys. I would do a system where the type of players and their gear is even.
    10v10 WSG:
    2 heal - 2 heal
    4 meele - 4 meele
    4 caster - 4 caster
    Avg GS: 5k (4800 - 5200)

Its my oppinion. Will never play this game on your realms cuz after theese years i dont see improvement.

  2. The battleground system doesn't work as it suppose to.
You forgot the only important part after you make a claim like this: the evidence, where is it?

Because even someone like me who loathes and ridicules PvP knows it didn't work like you're describing on retail.
"Avg GS"? Since when gear score is taken seriously into account by anything in the game?

  3. A lot of things don't "work" as it did in retail. Mboxing was extremely rare (I don't recall seeing any on my realm or battlegroup), and premades were nowhere nearly as prevalent (no back to back AV premades). Much has changed and it's difficult to restore that original experience. I can see why OP thinks enforcing roles will help mitigate the imbalance, especially when it's a feature that was added to later expansions.

GearScore is just OP's way of conveying team imbalanced caused by one or two under-geared players. He could've easily substituted GS for ilvl instead, which is used by the RDF system.

As far as evidence goes, since Warmane does not publish BG statistics, we are only left with anecdotes. One can hardly blame the OP for that.

Nothing to do with "not working" like retail. It's working exactly like retail, people simply didn't do it as much.

Our servers aren't in a later expansion.

    Are you OP?

What would statistics have to do with things working as they did on retail? Statistics are data for player usage and behavior, which has absolutely no relevance to how systems worked on retail, which he claimed is what happens. I most assured and definitely can blame baseless claims that don't point a single "in retail X worked like this, here it works like Y." Does queuing work different in some bugged manner? Are winning conditions for some Battleground incorrect? Is there some mechanic missing? That's what "working" means, not how players decide to play the game.

  5. For the sake of those who might read this: Warmane for the most part defines "working" as maintaining the conditions of retail. Which is understandable, though it leaves much to be desired given many simply go with cookie-cutter solutions (in pvp that would be premades, stacking heals, mboxing... etc), which exacerbates the imbalances felt. If your suggestion falls along the lines of reproducing the retail experience, it will likely require additional restrictions to limit "abuse" of certain game mechanics, which is a nonstarter given Warmane's position on this issue.

  6. gear

how can you think gear and class compositions makes BG even ? :/ even BG's are purely randomly generated all gears mixed up from 1 fraction from 1 realm.

  7. I had around 10 WGs today and aliance always had 1-2 heals and horde always 3. So...

  8. WSG is about the most imbalanced BG there is. Due to its small size, it's extremely premade friendly. On the other hand, you have massive PvP battles like IoC and AV that usually devolve into chaos. I find the sweet spot for PUGs to be around 15v15, where it's more difficult for smaller premades to dominate, while not too big to become unwieldly for teamplay.

  9. Alliance got 4 healers? I'm alliance, every time I play I see that horde have 4 healers...
