1. IP Ban Scripters

On Blackrock, it gets old constantly dueling 5.6k GS dks and getting destroyed as if they were 6.8k gs 2800xp dks.
Sure enough, every single time I check they have 100 duels at most on that character, and 0 HKs.

Banning the account has no effect on these cheaters because they aren't losing anything. They need permanent IP bans.

  2. If your solution was good, we wouldn't be worried about bots and gold sellers. They use VPN often, which often gets innocent people along.

  3. i don't understand what they are actually doing? Are they hacking?

  4. scripting is a form of hacking so for example you may try to face cast something but the script silences it so fast its inhuman literally the moment u clicked ur button u get silenced and stuff like that

Thanks, didn't realized that so many are doing it.

  6. You should do some research on how IPs work. Aside, in general, servers and other equipment that need a static one, people will have a dynamic one, that changes periodically and can also be refreshed by restarting the modem. All permanent IP bans would do is cause legitimate players who use the same ISP to risk using a banned one, like happens with people on free VPNs. Cheaters would just turn off and on their modems and play normally.

  7. One solution might be to pay attention to the device used during registration instead of just the IP. I have seen this done with other services because it is harder to change your device than your IP.

  9. changing your ip requires either renting one or using vpn :D
Just restarting your modem gets you a new IP for just about anyone, as people generally don't have static IPs.

Recruit-a-friend is meaningless when people can create new accounts within a minute and for free.

If this was something with an easy solution, not only we would have implemented it, but so would Blizzard, who still has issues with bots, spammers and gold sellers to this day.

  10. idk if we can add colone on AUTH table that contain something fix like MAC adresse of the device to track them and efficient BAN
or maybe add somehting to track every UNIQUE client wow and ban the client id instead of account or IP
So they have to get another UNIQUE ID Client from another computer
Idk im just saying idea, idk if that possible about client wow id

  12. That's the thing. You already have the numbers, so it's time to build some walls for the outsiders. Only people who already have accounts, along with some additional requirements will be able to invite/recruit newcomers. It won't be that easy to enter like it's now and that's the thing which will prevent most bots/sellers.
We have no interest in turning our server into some sort of "private invitation-only club," much less in "building walls to keep outsiders out," Donald.
