WotLK How to transfer char for free?

Hello warmane community,

I'm super new, just started playing on Lordaeron. But i've discovered that i have an IRL friend that has several chars on Icecrown and we'd like to play together.
He would like to transfer a char to my account so we can start having fun, but we don't know how to proceed.
Noticed that there is an option to buy chars for coins, but dunno if there's an option to "gift" chars.
How would we proceed in this situation?

Level a character on crown. There's no transfers from lord to crown.

There also isn't and won't be any option to "gift" characters.
