WotLK Character name not appearing and can't log in

I've redownloaded the client after a couple years of not playing. My character's appear on my login screen but their names do not appear, and when I try to log in, it goes to the loading screen and then shows up with "Login failed"

I also can't find my characters on the armory. Are they gone? I had a couple maxed characters and it'd be a shame if they're gone forever

They need to be named again.

Try to login a character as you would normally do. You should get prompt asking to name your character.

If you don't, rename your cache folder to cache.bk and try again.
