WotLK Aces High Quest

I'm trying to do this quest and I have watched guides but for some reason as soon as I fly off the ledge and I am knocked off my dragon and falling with parachute on, None of the guides tell you do anything specific before flying off, So what am I doing wrong ?

The same exact thing happens to me too: mount the dragon, start flying / fighting, and randomly dismounted and hanging on a chute while a furious blue elite blasts me to pieces.
Happens with multiple characters.
