Technical Can i download without bittorent?

i tryed that link and the download is so slow, why is it so hard to just download the game client
why do we need all those stupid things like bit torrent and mega,
i might try to see if i can get the download from a different private server.

What other method would you propose that's not "stupid" like torrent or direct download such as Mega? Maybe I can telepathically send 16gb worth of game files from my pc to yours?
