Fast leveling and gear not to spec. How do we do it?
Hi fellow Warmane folks!
I am a pretty new player here, and with the fast leveling, I am having a really hard time with PVE as the armor/weapon gear doesn't match the zone difficulty.
How are folks dealing with leveling, but not getting destroyed when moving to the level appropriate zone?
The AH seems very overpriced, and lower level items say 20-50 are either in short supply, or like 1kG for each piece.
You start milking. Don't just hit a level and go to the zone it allows you to go in, but do a bit more quests that award decent item upgrades.
The other option is to queue for random dungeons.
You could, also, reduce your exp rate by right-clicking the exp bar and selecting a rate.
Oh nuts! I would have run at regular XP had I known this! I was ready to leave as I keep getting stuck in PVE as the armor/weapons don't match and grinding for 0 XP seemed...well pointless.
Hmmm. Whenever I cue for Dungeons with the built-in Dungeon Finder, it never comes up with a Dungeon. IS there another way to cue for the lower level dungeons?
Also everyone in-game as told me to power level to highest, and skip ALL quests that are not at least yellow. Not sure how I can level at all like this as my armor is level 10 and I'm level 30 for example. Can't even wipe a basic MOB without resting.
Another option is to pick a profession that can make gear for you, skill it up and you will have some gear. Bonus is that you can sell materials/gear pieces to dudes in the same situation that you are, you will have gold for spells and mounts.
1st time leveling with higher rates is always bit hard.
What I recommend is:
- Try to identify quest chains. They usually have good reward(s) at the end. Do them, regardless if they give exp or not.
- Queue RDF every once in a while. Possible loot upgrades are plenty.
- Get a gathering profession. Gather, sell, and then buy "cheap" gear pieces. Be smart about it, don't bother with small upgrades.
- Check small towns for gear vendors. May not be the best items, but they are relatively cheap (dirt cheap if you make some gold with gathering).
- Check the looks of the gear, some random greens that looks good can sell for high price. Good way to fund your character progression.
- Sell greens in AH. Green item may net you 30 silver from a vendor. Throw it in AH for 1-3g and it may just sell.
