Technical Old Account Banned VPN - Threatened in Global - How Do I Protect Myself

I was advertising my guild <gays> in global chat and someone sent this message:

I had something similar happen a few weeks ago and tried to use a vpn but was banned because of it.
I need to make sure my ip is blocked from users. it doesn't matter if GMs can see it, but i am trans and there are a lot of alt right people on this server and I do not feel safe with them being able to access my ip since i'm receiving threats.
Someone told me that no one can see my ip on this game, but i cannot find any documentation on this and if no one can see my ip then why was i banned for not sharing it?
Please don't be mean or call me names, this is a serious issue for me and name calling is not helpful.
Any help would be appreciated.

They can't actually see your IP through the game in the first place. If they're breaking any rules then feel free to report them to a GM.
