[Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers] & [Stave of the Ancients] 's quest

Hey boys!

I'm having trouble completing "Stave of the Ancients"'s quest for over a year now. Giving it a try every once in a while but at this point i'm running out of ideas.

Basically, every hunter that has it transmog just did the quest, and it worked. Atleast that's what they told me. So it should be working for me as well right?

Well i've managed to kill and get the head of Artorius and after that nothing worked.

3 scenarios can happen for the 3 last demons: Simone/Klinfran/Solenor

1) Can talk to them, nothing happens, after 5 minutes i get mad and kill them, and can't loot nothing
2) Can't talk to them, get agree them with aoe, give them time to transform into demon, then nothing to loot
3) As soon as fight begins, the Slayer, or the finisher or whatever his name is spawns and i'm toast.....

I've tried in group, solo, with pet, without pet, fresh re take quest, with addon, without any addon (fresh wow folder) and in group with another hunter with quest. None of them worked...

I always have the Petrified Bark in my bags.


Can someone explain me how to do it? Am i missing something obvious? Or any other idea would be great!

I did this a couple months ago and it worked fine, more or less.

If I remember correctly, when you talk to them in their humanoid form, they should have a gossip option that you have to click before you fight them.

Then, each demon has a strategy that you have to follow - I don't quite remember but it's something like... one has to be killed with stings, the other has to be slowed with traps, and so on. If you don't do it like that The Cleaner appears and you have to do it again. Wowhead comments have the strategy for each demon.

Also, to finish the questline, you need to clear Onyxia. I haven't had any luck yet finding a group. If you can help me with this please send me a PM.

Updating this, because of some information OP gave me in PM: you don't need to clear Onyxia. The black dragons to the east of the Burning Steppes also drop the necessary item (although with a low chance). Therefore the entire questline is soloable.
