WotLK Transmogrification BUG

The Problem:

Hello, as we all know the scroll may be used only on soulbounded and usable for our character items. I actually crafted one of items from Gnomish Engineering and applied a transmog to it. Now I have the crafted transmog but can't apply it to my helmet. It says that

"This item cannot be transmogrified with that appearance."

The item of transmog is "Gnomish X-Ray Specs" and you wear it as helmet, means that you can apply it to a helmet, there is no type of armor so it may be used by any kind of class, using Cloth, Leather, Mail or Plate, it doesn't matter.

My question is; is it possible to apply it anywhere? If not please give me back my scroll.

i dont think its bugged, its just transmog only works on the same item categorization like cloth to cloth, mail to mail, etc and that item is neither cloth/leather/mail/plate head piece. so u can use the appearance to transmog the same 'uncategorized' head piece.

Means that you shouldn't even able to use scroll to it.

not really, the rule is simple, it has the same class and type which u can also wear, thats it. u can wear the item alone doesnt mean u can transmog it to other type, cz if thats the case warrior plate piece can use mail appearance cz warrior can wear all type of armor.

Your example is wrong, I wouldn't even try to transmog it if it was another type of armor, because I read the link that you uploaded above about Transmogrification. It wasn't said anywhere about that type of items so used my scroll into it.

bro, read again my replies.
my points are:
1. gnomish x ray specs is 'uncategorized' type, the transmog appearance can only be applied to the same 'uncategorized' type head piece.
2. u were trying to apply the appearance to your cloth/leather/mail/plate, which ofc u cant.

except if the first case is what u're having problem with, then idk.

If it was a bug and you had got it with Coins you donated for you could open a Support ticket to get the Coins refunded.
In any other case, no.

Have you tried putting that xmog on Chef's Hat, since both items are head slot but uncategorized?
I don't see any bug here...
