link? d
What if I was to advertise that I'm coaching for coins then, and start to do 2v2s with them, would that still be against the rules?
I mean, "Arena Boosting: It is not allowed. neither paid or for free".
Using coin gifting for payments is not allowed.
Frame it however you want, hammer will come down and "I was just coaching", "it was a gift" will not work out.
Then are you arguing about definition of "boosting"? Did you make a ticket and GM explained it for you, where is your confidence coming from?
So your interpretation is, under "PVP exploiting" rules there is "no account trading" rule, along with, "no afking in bgs, follow, botting etc". Your interpretation sounds out of context, doesn't it?
And, after you boost someone, wont he get banned for mmr dropping when he has partner on his level?
Sounds like this rule is simply un-enforcable, unless you can correlate mmr spike with ip change, that's basis for your reasoning?
edit: also don't get how all kinds of boosting is "boosting", but then, suddenly, when it comes to arenas, it's "coaching", lol

Difference for buying raid spot is clear as day. There is no specific rule "boosting in raids is forbidden", otherwise you would have to pull out "I was coaching this guys mechanics, it was not boosting!".
What my point is, according to what's written, right there in rules, clear as day: there is plenty of room to get banned. Basic meaning of words are universal, meaning of words does not change for one specific rule. That is what it says, and if GM says that reality contradicts their own rule, all nice and good, even if it is ridiculous.
Besides, giving access to your account in a deal already falls under "no account trading", there is no "temporary" exception or anything like that in there. Why make 2 rules with same meaning?

I think, in the end, skipping literal and whatnot interpretations, what this rule says is:
We can not really enforce this, there is no way to differentiate 2 friends playing arenas and giving each other gold from someone paying for boosting. So boosting is forbidden, reason is so arenas don't turn into disguising environment of boost fiesta, where you cant go in without 2.5k paid partner and is against the spirit of PVP.
That is my idea why this rule exists.
But regardless of anything, it's a slippery slope.
Using Gifting to pay for services is against the rules, yes. Gifting has a very clear purpose and it's on the name. Of course there are people who might use it wrongly and get away with it, but they are one report away from punishment. It would just take anyone reporting you "suggesting" they send you Coins through Gifting for your "coaching."
