Question for Raid Leaders and guild Officers

Hello Warmane leaders,

I would like to get a feel of how warmane community feels about addon requirements for pve. To be more specific, I am interested in hearing your thoughts about DBM Addon.
I am a big fan of this addon and I've used it since wrath was current many years ago.
However, every once in a while you come across this dude who doesn't want to install an addon, or he thinks addons are cheats, or in some cases plays on an outdated computer which can barely run the game, let alone the addon on top of it.

If you can, reply on whether your guild is casual, semi-hardcore or hardcore or maybe if you prefer leading PUG raids. Also include whether you absolutely REQUIRE your raid members to use this, or is it optional.

If you want you can reveal which guilds you're in and how mandatory is this in your community.

If player can keep track of everything and does mechanics perfectly, there is no problem. But if player is never ready for mechanics and refuses to get an addon for that - politely ask him to find other guild that's suited for him. Doesn't have to be specifically DMB either, any addon that tracks boss spell timers is fine.

Hi.

~ 3 years active officer in national (czech/slovak) and former officer in international guild. Both guilds are clearing LOD/RS HC/ToGC Immortality to this day.

To be completely honest with you, nobody really care about DBM. It is about performance, game knowledge and raid awareness of given member. If he is not performing according to standards, he will be benched (not picked to next week raid group) or kicked out of the guild. It is really easy to cause bad impresion as new member, let alone get kicked from group/guild, so I always advice player to do theyr best.

Addons help with information. Why anyone wouldn't wanna take advantage of that is beyond me.

DBM should be mandatory for anyone that's raiding.
PalyPower should be mandatory for any paladin that's raiding.
Raidframe should be mandatory for anyone that's raiding.
Threat meter should be mandatory for anyone that's raiding.

List can be tweaked but that's what comes to my mind rn..

Hell....a UI inspection should be performed and subsequently improved based on findings for anyone that's raiding.

Add-ons have ruined World of Warcraft so badly that encounters started getting crafted under the assumption players will have five dozens installed telling them what to do at every step and overwhelming them with information. Not using them became more of a dumb flex to show you know the mechanics and timing from lots of repetition. If someone can do stuff without them, go ahead, but it's still a big "why tho?"

This warmane DBM is more than helpful when it disarms your character in mind control fights such as LDW.
Aside from that your characters /s says important information such as "Defile on me!" to alert everyone around them to react properly.
Its not only a tool that keeps a single player informed then.

Its a must have addon for pve.

Any form of raidframes, nothing else.
Don't have dbm? Enable game sound, bosses announce a ****-ton of mechanics anyway.

Hello there, I have played on warmane since 2009, been in about 20-30 endgame raiding "best guild" at their time, been guild master, officer, class leader etc in around half of them and I also played in several casual/progressive guilds from 2018 to 2021 cause I got tired of the engame lod farm everyday after 10 years and mastering every single class so to help new players get further in game and taking a more casual approach on the game was a nice change, anyhow I would say that yes DBM is mandatory, and it's the only addon (or similar addons bigwigs or weakauras) that is mandatory, I have met MANY players that have over the years said the same stories as you tell that they dont need it and they are good without it but, every single one of them have done misstakes that resulted in raid whipe that could have been prevented if they had the addon, not only for themselves either but others also, like if someone places a defile in the middle of a 25man raid, it dosent have to wipe raid if everyone else reacts to it and runs out from it. A old guild master I know and played with for several years said something that stuck with me, It is downright dissrespectful for everyone else by wasting other peoples time by not joining discord or getting dbm, and he does have a point.
