WotLK April' Fool - wrong race / appearance

I was surprised to see the April's fool joke (character level 1 without gear) but thought it was a joke. I checked on the forum and that was indeed the case... except when I log in with my character that is a pal female blood elf, the appearance if that of a human (despite race saying blood elf in the description), in fact, the same female human appearance I get when I play in Strath.

Since I saw noone speaking about race/appearance change for April's fool, I'm a little worried. Is that also part of the joke or is there a problem with my character ?

EDIT : I checked and saw other characters from the horde that were from alliance races, I suppose it is indeed part of the joke then. Surprised noone's speaking of this.

I thought it was a bug and deleted my client, redownloaded it and cant log on to the server anymore
