Some context, I was a raid leader of one of the first guilds on old Molten to kill Lich King when it was first released forever ago, so have some decent amount of experience with the server as well as with wrath (raids, classes, sweaty theorycrafting, etc.)
I'm really looking for a chill leveling experience with the possibility of experiencing some endgame content at the end of it. I *enjoy* early dungeons, some of the RPG aspects of the game, and am far too old to do the whole "rush as fast as you can to max level so you can sit around in Dalaran and hate the game" mentality.
Considering between Onyxia and Lordaeron. I used to play Lord back in the day so know a good bit about it, but intrigued with Onyxia.
My questions are as follows:
1) Is there any external reward for choosing to level as 1x? Mount, cosmetic, title, any incentive or is there literally no point and you'll need the extra exp to handle the 3.3.5 client conversion and any hiccups it may have?
2) All posts I've seen seem to comment on how quickly Ony is progressing. TBC in 3 months? Think that'll be enough time to experience most of what vanilla has to offer before everything shifts over?
3) If so, what classes/specs should I be looking at? I know little about classic other than warriors are literally the only tanks, hpalas are the only tank healers, mages are fastest for AOE cheese leveling, and most other classes are just not viable. I mained a prot pally back in the day (wrath) and raided with a mage and warlock as well. What would be your best *first* class fresh on the server to be as viable as possible without any outside help?
4) How's the server feeling in general? Would I enjoy a chill questing/early dungeon experience there more than on Lordaeron? How's ganking in contested zones in general? Dungeon queues while leveling? How does vanilla reimagined on 3.3.5 feel as a whole?
5) If you were going to start fresh (no guild, friends, gold, high level alt), where would *you* main, if you were aiming for Loremaster title, doing all dungeons through leveling zones, and wanted to avoid the ridiculous 5.5k gs requirements for normal RDF runs waiting for you at the end of it all?
Thanks for any thoughts, looking forward to rolling *somewhere* in the next few days (after finishing a WC3 playthrough to brush up on where it all came from!)
