TBC gear and 70 twinks

Hello I rarely ever post anything on forums but this time I felt like I should.

So I was thinking of making a 70 twink but i found out that the vendors in nagrand and shattrath are despawned and area 52 sells furious/rele/wf instead of legacy season 2 and 3 also the missing npcs vendors are the ones supposed to sell brutal armor and weapons / offset.

So I am just trying to understand why this is the case is there some reason that the only way to acquire BG gear is the coin shop?
This gear should be obtainable in wrath of the lich king and those npcs should be there but they arent. Well I am not gonna bother with 70 twinking for that reason.

I am sure that this is supposed to be a blizz like server even though there are some extras like xmog and so on but if anyone knows the reason for this please let me know.

I assume you're from icecrown.

There's a subsection of the forum dedicated for twinking, a little unsure how resourceful it is as a place to search for stuff.

From my understanding, you're able to get older season gear with tier tokens from certain vendors, tho I could be mistaken. (Unable to verify this second) I recommend double checking this in-game.

There's no real 70 arenas that are active anyways to reach bis 70 gear when it comes to twinking, and if you're opposed to the idea of being unable to grind for the gear, fear not, as if you're a 10 coin premium champ, you're able to grind and sell gold thru the website to buy these cheap little pieces of epics.

You can indeed only buy it for coins. Honestly, I would advice against level 70 twinking if you want to strictly do PVP. Don't get me wrong its a fun bracket and i myself have a 70 twink, but the BGs are atrocious. You will be the only level 70, everybody else will be 79. As a DPS this means that you will always be at a disadvantage because you will more or less never hit (and as you said, you can't effectively get PVP gear so you are going to get oneshot). If you play as a healer you will be consistantly outhealed and unless you donate and get full PVP gear you might aswell not play, as scaling is the only upside to playing PVP geared healer in the 70-79 bracket.

Consider either trying some 70 PVE (if you're into that sort of thing) or just going 79 honestly. It's not fun to hear and I wish I didn't have to be the bearer of bad news, but here we are. I should also add that if you join a 70 PVE guild (which exist both on alliance and horde) they do actually organize WSG evenings against eachother!

It's true about the vendors. Only the ones in Gadgetzan are present, also from the 70 vendor in SW there is many items missing such as the entirety of the "Gaurdian's" and equivalent blue pvp gear with the exception of a single item for some reason.

It should be noted that isn't the case on Lordaeron by the way, all vendors including Nagrand are there from what I read in the forums previously, and dually noted that the Brutal Gladiator gear in Gadgetzan requires arena points, a lot of them, but in the live version of this patch (3.3.5) the TBC PvP gear cost only honor points.. hmm...

Anyway there are a lot of us 70 twinks so you should make one! Just because there are some arbitrary hurdles to getting some stuff, it's not impossible. I just ran some 70 2v2 arenas the other night. You just have to coordinate in a more old fashioned way like in Vanilla, look for other 70 twinks and ask them to play.

I'd really like to make a cross faction Discord server for all twink brackets on Warmane as a place where we can discuss and help each other and organize both twink PvP and PvE stuff in game. I also think when Onyxia realm finishes progressing and merges with Icecrown there will be a huge influx of level 60 and level 70 characters xp locked as twinks. I know that my own progression characters will for sure be xp locked after as kind of trophies / twinks with lore / memories.

You can get an almost BiS 70 just from doing PvE stuff and professions, and filling in the few pieces that you could get from the PvP gear is kind of just extra stuff to achieve / strive for imo. Most of the PvE pieces are better because they have sockets for big armor pen gems and the like. Don't let Warmane's current configuration of making you buy it with coins or inflated arena points, deter you from joining our twinking community. The more of us there are the more likely we could have that stuff changed. I personally propose Brutal and the like should be available for vote points and honor points in the game as it was in real WotLK.

I have both 70 and 79, and yes you are at a disadvantage but it's not impossible to overcome. I kill 80s sometimes on my 70 twink. If you had enough people to coordinate premade 70 BGs you could play some without any 79s at all, or make it a fun game and put one 79 healer on each side as a sort of juggernaut type of role. The game has a lot of room for custom style war games and other stuff too that fit twinking pretty well. I have a few places that would be the coolest spots for a twinking duel tournament / swap meet. But I think unless we make a Discord to coordinate on, it's not something you can log in and expect to que for a BG and get instant que or get people together to hang. Especially because most twinkers have characters in multiple brackets and don't log that frequently to allow in game guilds to be active, add the limit of faction, and bracket, and you have a very niche and dead guild.

Twink appeals to me cause it's just fun to have something to work toward completing, like building a mech kit or something. Allows a different mindset than endgame 80 gameplay loop. I mean there is Warmane specific stuff that we haven't even discovered yet, and some twink brackets like level 1 are super fringe and haven't been completely theorycrafted yet. Anyway find some of us in the game and we'll help you gear up so you can try it out. You can always move up to 79 later, a lot of the same 70 gear is used in that bracket too so it wouldn't be totally wasted. That's the nice thing about twinking, you can always turn xp back on, good luck!
