I would like to suggest a coin scaling change that would make more sense. I doubt that anyone is currently buying for coins anything else than BiS which itself tells that current coin pricing is partially wrong. It should be non-linear and for some items it already is (e.g. legendaries). My quick proposal for raid epics would be something like:
Also Tier 10 marks are missing in a store and I don't see any reason why to exclude it. For example: T10 for 7 coins, T10HC for 13 coins.
Ppl will probably complain about increased price of 284 ilvl from 23 to 24. And my answer is: 1) it is a quick proposal 2) if you wanna buy complete BiS gear from the store, you should think about reason why you even play this game. I think, main purpose should be the opportunity to get some decent items which are somehow unreachable for you ingame and jump straight into endgame.
"2) if you wanna buy complete BiS gear from the store, you should think about reason why you even play this game"
People are lazy to gear up again and again and again and again and again and again and again since most of the people are playing for few years and getting bored to gear up again which can take a lot of time, so they buy full BiS gear so they can finally play the game.
Thanks for feedback. So you don't like it just because my quick proposal makes P2W playstyle more expensive. I would appreciate some factual criticism. i.e. what's wrong with my numbers.
...so they buy full BiS gear so they can finally play the game.
You don't need BiS gear to "finally play the game". Really. What is the reward motivation to do raid instances with BiS gear? Emblems, BOE, payed boosts or just a good feeling that you spent whole evening to boost guild mates. Farm gold -> sell gold /char -> buy char / gear -> farm gold over again is malformed gameplay (P2W) which I pointed out in 2). No offsense. My suggestion targets ppl who actually enjoy this game, its story line and challenges.
I admit that I may be part of the minority regarding the perception of the game and then I have no choice but to respect that.
Btw. I could propose 21, 22, 23 but that would cause overall price deflation.
There is nothing wrong with your numbers or anything. Well, actually its totally wrong to achieve such a non-goal. Price should double with each tier, if you want people to buy lower tier items. 23 or 24 coins means nothing, considering that now item costs 23 and closest you can donate is 22 coins, you need to cough up another 10eur for 1 coin(or 2 coins now).
Fact is that they will not make everything to suit your subjective viewpoint of how game should be and what you think people do or don't enjoy. Your Main Character syndrome is not sufficient reason for them to go and rework everything. You have not provided any benefits or goals apart from some vague "people will use lower tier items", why it would be good, what does it do?
Nobody will ever buy ilvl 245 gear for 10 coins, it's a waste of coins.
Would you say that Shadowmourne is worth 150 coins? There are many who would say yes, there are many who would say no. It's like people view prices differently.
I dunno, double Death's Choice/Verdict exists, and I'm sure there are people who have bought them both.
One must remember that not everybody shares your views on what's worth what.

Its not fun anymore to farm, takes too much time just farming, farming, farming... its not the good old times anymore.
I agree that the pricing for lower ilvl gear is way too high. For expl, nobody donates 19 coins for wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=40866 when you can get wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=51545 for 22 coins.
I think it would also make sense to sell starter sets for coins. Like full furious set for 30 coins.
It would increase warmanes income and players wouldn't have to walk naked around in BGs or arena.

You know chinese e-shops like Temu? That's business model. Quantity over high margin (which is simply price itself in this case). The prices are so low that people feel it is a huge bargain. They put 100 crap items in their shopping cart and the fact that it cost 300 euros doesn't bother them so much. On the other hand, for exclusive goods with a high margin, they pick 3 items for 300 euros and then throw 2 out of the cart because they think it's just too expensive (and it really is) and then they doubt for another 2 weeks whether it was worth it.

I don't get it.
If everything could be exactly as you say, what would it look like? Sounds like you want everyone just buy gear for cheap and just uninstall the client.
So let me explain it more clearly. Lower item level is now overpriced junk that no one buys which is a wasted opportunity. I have described two extremes of the business model, one of which can be applied to this kind of unsold gear. If your game doesn't end with TOC, there's no reason to uninstall anything.
Problem is that lesser gear is easy to obtain in game, it does not matter if it's 5, 10 or 20 coins, it's the same. No one really wants to blow coins on gear pieces they will replace next week. Only thing that's "to stay" is T10 set, everything else is replaced, mixed, put back on and taken off again, whatever is neccessary to reach hit/exp caps and such while gearing. Marketable items are T10 sets, that's it.
BIS gear has permanence which you plan around and coins put into that are perceived as worth it.
Either way it's pointless, it's not going to happen, there is no way it could be worth to obliterate current status, character market and indirectly gold prices and probably 100 other things, just to get people to spend money on trash gear. Everyone would be even more pissed about p2w when every noob runs around in full 251 sets they got for 15 coins and having 0 clue what to do, because they skipped the "intro" part to raiding.
Ok. That's opinion. Although pessimistic. Anyway, if your claim will be proven, this change shouldn't hurt anything. We won't know the answer until we try.
Btw RL should require linking achievement. So re-selling chars is much worse.
There is a sort of threshold, a roadblock when people cant geat up solo anymore by farming EOT. Technically attractive prices there could work, like selling full 251 t10 set for 25 coins or something like that.
But it's also an important point in game when player must reach out to other players, learn raid tactics and learn their spec, solo part of the game is over. How many players would mess up the game for everyone, who knows. How many players would feel scammed, even after they spent money on it, they still cant do anything solo.
In general everything is marketable, but would it be worth to mess up game flow, at this point "tradition" and potentially send the whole server into death spiral?
