1. This is such a great addition.

For those against having a merge, but are pro having a server:

    - A TBC arena tournament realm server will not survive on its own, so that's not a viable option. They never do. There were 2 that were viable, and the last one was Endless TR right before classic TBC launch where people were hype for classic.

    - You'll get faster BG queues and for a way longer period of time. For arena, the gear speed will not make a difference in how you perform. There will be both good and bad players on Blackrock. And 1 PvE piece that was obtained that you haven't gotten yet will not make the difference in 99.9% of matches that you play.

  2. this concept of merged arena ladders of progressive servers and instant servers that still require grinding (honor/arena points) was already applied to previous warmane fresh servers (wotlk frostmourne) and if i recall correctly it was received well by players.

as the middle ground warmane could try to release a merged ladder for the first season (s1/t4) which is considered more of a meme season anyway and evaluate from there whether it is a good idea to continue or dismiss blackrock tbc.

also by the current looks of it the arena community will be insanely dead if it wont be for the instant server, you will probably get your first arena games after 2 weeks once people finished all the chores and grinding to start playing the game. i doubt that is what anyone wants

  3. Two weeks here and already the audacity to speak about whats best for Onyxia players?

If you dont want to play PvE, but only PvP, enjoy Blackrock, no one is saying anything against Blackrock on its own.

But mixing "us" from Onyxia with Blackrock is harming "our" realm. Why? Simple - why should ANYONE invest hours and hours to get an alt ready for PvP on Onyxia now, when they can join Blackrock and face everyone from both realms? Immediate negative impact on our realm.

Now lets get to the PvP points:
    - You find easier mates on Blackrock, because there is no long playtime needed to get right into arenas
    - You can snipe anyone from Onyxia easier, because it takes you 1min to get to 70, while it takes us at least 10h on 3x (+the money for boosting)
    - You can exactly calculate what gear you are gonna get when through arenas/bg, while i do have to make long term bonds with people in order to raid on a decent level so i have a rng based chance of getting my PvE bis items
    - You can use scripts any time, get banned and create a new char to play arenas again vs me, while if i get banned for those ill have to spend dozens of hours again

I could write so much more about this, but if you dont have the intellectual capacity to see more than your own wishes, its a waste of time.

Ive invested already too much time to quit Onyxia, and for me a joint ladder is a bonus as there is more people to farm. But ill hate the fact that any PvP alts wont need to play with us on Onyxia on the same terms, while being able to play with against us in arenas. And trust me, i know already 10 people which gave up on leveling their arena alts on Onyxia cause they can do it way easier now on Blackrock.
I'm either sorry that happened or happy for you. But I'm not reading that wall of text.

I read the first line though. And yes, I am entitled to an opinion on this new expansion that I am joining. Vanilla was different and needs to be thought of differently.

So you failed on 2 servers and now you want 3rd one to help you so you can play one part of a game (PVP).
Two failed pvp servers say enough about what we can expect to have by this "merge".
Let's ruin Onyxia so we can MAYBE succeed 3rd time :))))
    Sounds super optimistic.

  5. Warmane ruining the server for the ppl that played it from the start, just so ppl that never played on it can have unfair advantages agasint every normal player

I don't get the connection you're trying to make. You do realize that people of all skill levels will play on Blackrock, right? The TR's died off because the lower skilled players didn't have a big enough pool of people to play against. Now they do.

I promise you the TBC r1 players will play regardless as long as they can get queues. It's the 1500-2100 bracket players that need a bigger population to stay interested.

Onyxia side gets faster and better arena/BG queues, and PvP-only players of all skill levels get to actually play the game when they CBA leveling and raiding.

    Win win for both sides.

  7. Do you not have a response to what I said?

But I'm not reading that wall of text.
    Oh god, the intellectual abyss.

"better queues", not really... it's artificially geared players that still suck if they didnt have the obvious massive advantage from getting everything almost for free on blackrock.

  9. How is this even a debate.. merging progressive realm and instant 1 makes no sense at all.

It's not a win-win as you can see from Onyxia member's responses lol

Blackrock needs Onyxia to survive NOT vice versa.
We don't need your "better queues", we need the realm to stay as it is and as it was announced. PROGRESSIVE!
If 1900 is max Onyxia arena teams can push, let it be! At least we are working for it.

  11. If you give the Blackrock players an easier path to obtaining endgame PvE items through honor points, there's going to be a terrible mismatch on the battlefield.

  12. "better queues", not really... it's artificially geared players that still suck if they didnt have the obvious massive advantage from getting everything almost for free on blackrock.
I promise you that the majority of onyxia players, if they have gear or not, will also suck.

  13. I promise you that the majority of onyxia players, if they have gear or not, will also suck.
for sure, however and here's the important part that you and a few others don't seem to understand: we invest hous upon hours to prepare our characters and get all the gear the legit way, not some shortcuts that blackrock is all about.
