Hi!
I wonder if it's a Banana-ble offense if a mage places a portal into the horde portal side of Dalaran at an empty spot, NOT overlapping existing ones.
May you bless me with this information, I'd be grateful to know. As I am not really sure if it falls under "Disrupting Gameplay"-rule/s
Some "not so friendly" players swore at me and some stuff about sending reports and stuff and that crossed my mind, what if it's true and so I am here.
But thanks, I will do that again, from time to time. :D Feel free to join and giggle with me #icecrown
So far, I've had like 6-7 funny reactions and 2-3 not so cool. It does bring some Joy to people :)
I could see a ban for creating portals if you did what some kid did in a VoA 25 raid some months ago, he was griefing our TV and a few unfortunate people got sent away trying to do summons. Needless to say it was not funny to most of the players, and he got booted after doing the same to our second TV, but at least he left through one of his portals instead of pulling the boss which would've been a sure way to get banned...if you didn't do some serious portal griefing while in a group, I don't see how you could get banned for other people's mistakes lol.
Btw few weeks ago some huntard did 0 damage in Strath because he wanted to be kicked and my group refused (I was happy to comply) to give him what he wants, then he went on to daze our group for half the dungeon and do 0 damage, but my 2 ss of him saying it's just a 2 day ban while having Pack on during Salramm and doing 0 damage, and not showing up in Details while being in the group and typing in chat when we were in the final stretch of Strath, was "insufficient evidence". So it's probably not easy to get a ban for disrupting gameplay, even if you wanted it.
Portal griefing in a group is dealt by a raid leader.
I bet I could sit with a mammoth and make mage portals on top of Dalaran portals for hours and nothing would happen. Because inconvenience is not a disruption. Players can get around it.
Problem here is players are thinking about it in a really ****ed up way. Instead of thinking about it from objective perspective, they are thinking in "will people around be ok with it if I do this?", which allows absurd nightmare scenarios to come. It blurs the lines of what is actually bad and what is "inconvenience" or even more petty things. We can see this in a real world too, more and more these days. It wont end good for anyone.
We are not talking about blocking existing default "gateways", let's say you want to go to OG. and navigate to sunreavers sanct area in dalaran. and then you notice two portals to orgrimmar, and click the mage-made one :D
I also do it whenever I want to laugh. I create an orgri port next to the real orgri port and every day I am amazed to see that there are still some people who just either don't use their brain or their brain isn't developed enough or idk, maybe they're just not paying attention at all at the game... You do it the first day for a few mins, there's many people falling for it while those who saw it usually also laugh at those who fall for it.. Then you are like "yeah, now those people know not to fall for it again", but then you do it the next day and you realise those people fell for it again, then you start wondering "this portal thing is so old, yet I see people who play this game for 10 years and they still relog next to the portal thinking it's a bug".. Ofc those people who didn't use their brains will get mad and /w you, because they feel embarrased, they just made a fool out of themselves in front of the other people watching and laughing :D ..
