Actually moved back over to Icecrown after the change and honestly yeah, buying gold for coins and spamming FAPs is totally reasonable and not bad at all. Pretty clear advantage over Blackrock.
Again what I mentioned would be reasonable remedy would be to make the potions cost coins on Blackrock or points to incentivize playing other realms too. 5000 is an insane cost with no take on reality.
Realistically considering even the mods don't care about Blackrock, it's just better to jump ship before they find another way to feed us to Icecrown premades.
If you're willing to throw IRL money for single use potions to do better in PvP, that's your choice. Don't assume this applies to many other players in general at all.
Reasonable remedy would be to suggest/appeal a lower price, not a major change immediately, and that's only if the staff is willing to listen to feedback on it. So the balance is achieved through time and careful surveillance of the situation, and not through a hasty big percentage price reductions, or throwing FAP/LAP's behind a payment so that they could "milk money from dependencies of the people". That's more or less something some people would certainly point out and cry out injustice.
Absolute truth about buying gold for real money, and then buying fap. Completely viable option.
Give me this option on blackrock, I will pay with coins/euros for my pots.
