Will arena be available with appropriate gear anytime soon? I'm sure a lot of people would like to start testing/sending bug reports before the release.

I just wanted to open a similar thread.
Would be great to give us the opportunity, to support the DEVs. I tested some stuff on the TBC PTR and already found a couple bugs, but its just hard testing pvp related issues without any pvp going on. PvP gear is also a huge factor, so we can test resil etc etc you know it.
It was mentioned in the blackrock announcement, that we will also get the opportunity to test the quests for pve gear. Does this mean we get the blackrock tbc PTR again?
Would be great to know so we can start finding people that are willing to test once the PTR goes live, to report as many bugs as possible.

Also wondering about the arena maps. On the PTR the arena maps are still WOTLK style (square pillars etc) Will this be how it is in TBC as well?

Hopefully not, this is such a massive deal if so. The maps are incredibly different in TBC, especially ruins with the starting rooms having side areas and a pole in the center of the door to LoS.
The maps in TBC are a big part of how different matchups work and would hope that they would be the TBC-specific ones.

I just want to include a user's comments on the bug report in this thread because it is very well-said. Devs, we appreciate the hard work regardless. This is just a VERY big change to what TBC arena is and if this has been resolved in the past, we know it's do-able. Hopefully we can make it work.

"That is a bit lame honestly - there are various quirks about the TBC specific maps that are utilized at higher level play (for example: the small pillar at the top of the stairs in each Ruins of Lordaeron starting room, the small pillar on the ramp of Blade's Edge Arena, both spots being heavily utilized as LOS in certain scenarios)
A previous server that ran TBC on a 3.3.5 client was able to recreate the TBC specific map shapes with no issue.
If you simply don't want to invest time into doing it that is fine, but it is definitely doable and better, in my opinion. Thanks for the reply!"

Adapting to the new maps could be fun, but it's still better if we got the old maps instead.
Should definitely look into it if they can! There's still plenty of time.

For sure, time to log in then and let your words follow actions. Obviously the gearing situation is not perfect but if you just intend to test mechanics, DRs, spell coefficients and what not you do not need a best in slot Season 1 setup ready to go.
