How is it possible, among several thousands players on a server that there is no way to get a tank in random donj queue system ???
The whole day spent waiting, we just finally quit so long it was for nothing and finally did not do a donj at all !
I had a screen shot for you guys at Warmane : 58 mn queue for nothing. (but obviously cant post it)
1 hour queue :o How comes ? how is it possible on such crowded full server ??
And when i tank my self, what a surprise to see that there is always a guy with dual spec ready to tank instead of me, obviously not good enough i am..
And when i quest I see pal/wars stuffed as tank, so they exist indeed !
So how works the random donj system to be so unefficient to find tanks ??
Do you guys have the same problem ? All servers concerned ?
Any explaination (if any) would be so nice
Tanks gear up quickly pre-raid, due to less competition but still enough drops. Also, tanks stop doing RDFs really early, as they switch to raiding - raiding spots are also easily available for not-so-well equipped tanks.
Yeah, to echo this sentiment as someone who used to tank for fun but has since stopped, getting queued into HoR as first dung every day is annoying and just isn't fun.
This is magnified by the fact its always a group of extremely low dps who specifically queue for it through the rdf system.
Low and behold the dung takes more time because everything is timegated, but when you wipe because healers are low or you don't have enough dps for the escape, you just burn out.
I have 3 tanks, and all geared and i love tanking but doing rdf's is horrendously irritating, ninja pullers are my biggest issue. Then they cry and complain if they do it and get killed then start talking smack and complain abt why can't i hold aggro. I mean im literally holding a grp of mobs and they run off and pull more mobs or attack random targets that im not on and so on I normally would run a few dungeons back to back but i stopped after i do my 1 daily on each of my tanks.
We try to shoot through rdf gearing asap because of the following
Ninja pulling
6k gs dps needing on tank gear
6k dps going all out at the start of a fight when the tank is fresh, then they turn around and curse the tank out when they get aggro.
Increased cost because if we don't wipe, the tank takes more armor damage.
Those same people we help will then turn a blind eye to us if we ever need a hand.
Any small mistake for a new tank that's trying to learn is met with harassment and insults
The same dungeons over and over get boring
Any deviation from accepted norms and strategies to make up for a lower geared party is met with insults and harassment.
5k players doing 2k dps yet insult you for any small thing (like they dont realize different talents are better at different gear levels)
Oh, the tank sneezed /leave
It's just not as fun. It's part of the reason I rarely play as much anymore. The overall community is toxic unless you get into the right guild.
No disrespect meant to the staff. They aren't babysitters nor should they be, but the majority of the players on the server have become braindead gearscore mongers that don't even understand what theorycrafting for talents is, and bots advertising characters for sale in world chat.
And I'm not crying about GS because I'm not geared. I am, on multiple toons. I've gotten SEVERAL ICC runs behind me.
Maybe I have been blessed with good groups or maybe I haven't tanked enough but I've never suffered those issues often enough to discourage me from tanking. I've seen it happen to me or others, but very rarely.
OTOH, a message to tanks that stand in place for 1 minute after each pull: I hope you uninstall wow and take up gardening or something more appropriate.

You do realize you just proved my point with that comment alone. Just immediately telling someone something like that is part of the problem bud
Here's some valid reasons to why tanks often stop after every pull.
THEY COULD BE NEW AND ARE FOLLOWING A GUIDE!
Healer is low geared and out of mana
DK tanks (Especially blood) Have VERY weak AOE aggro if certain abilities can't be used like Death and Decay so sometimes we have to wait for abilities to be up before a pull.
If I'm with a group in all green gear I can solo POS HC. But I have to have Shadowmeld and Deathgrip off cooldown for initiating certain pulls.
Someone may be asking the tank for help on tactics for the encounter.
They're getting bombarded with whispers from people asking them to tank and they don't want to put on DND because they want a friend to still be able to reach them
They're giving everyone a chance to loot and skin and watching to see if anyone attempts to ninja so they can screenshot it.
Maybe the "ninja puller" misclicked or is used to being in groups where that's fine.
Maybe the DD rolling on Tank gear came from another server where that's fine.
Maybe the "6kGS" had faith the Tank could handle the aggro.
Maybe the people who were helped are busy when the Tank asks for help back.
Maybe the harassment and insulting happen because that's the sixth time in a row they had the same mistakes happen around them.
Maybe the "5kGS" players doing little damage are new to the class.
Maybe the people leaving are sick of bad experiences with people playing Tanks for short queues but knowing nothing about tanking.
It's generally a thankless, stressful job depending on the rdf group, i like the stress so i enjoy it. As a tank, you have to know everything about every instance, including how to avoid packs in order to have a smooth run. Ideally, everyone should know the fights with how old the content is but either people are ignorant to the instance, or don't care about basic, simple mechanics ultimately drawing out and complicating the run entirely.
You'd be surprised by how many dps still **** up on the King Ymiron fight during his Bane phase in UP. Some dps can get into their mind numbing damage count padding because they're trying to out preform someone else in the group which can complicate things.
If you want to have a good time as a tank doing rdf, gear a bear tank and become a dungeon hero.

Couldn't agree more. Add to this the fact that a lot of players join rdf with horrible class equipment and gear. Plenty of spellpower dk's/warrs/rogues, casters with wtf specs and so on. It can really get on your nerves to see ppl butcher your favourtie classes, at least for me. And don't tell me they are new, they are learning. No, they're just ignorant and plain ape-ish, if while leveling they didn't understand what stats they should focus on or have the decency to check for 5-10 min some class guides, which are all over the internet, they aren't worthy of my time and tanking services. I usually straight out get deserter when I see them or try to trick them to kick each other in hopes of getting decent players instead.
Why the hate? Well some is said here in reply to tank answers.
We have chosen a class not knowing how to play it.
The fact that you need to play it to get better at it doesn't cross there mind.
So, to all DPS-ers; stop complaining about bad tanks and if you want to talk help your tank (lead of you know the dungeon) give tips to the tank from previous great runs with tanks that where great and don't scold or sigh if the tank dares to say he is a beginner.
Motivate them instead of cancelling them through anything.
Show love and we will get better and even come back to rdf when we are already raiding.
(Same goes to healers btw, also a unforgiving class that needs te be mastered.)
