WotLK Can't make new character

I'm having trouble trying to make a new character. I have a Drenai character at the moment and my friend just joined up and wants to play Horde. We're both on Icecrown and I can't make a Horde character. It's just stuck on "Creating Character" dialog and won't stop. No errors text or anything. But there's no problems when making another Alliance character.

I'm told that originally for PvP servers you weren't allowed to own characters from both factions, but this other friend of mine has 4 Alliance characters on Icecrown and was able to make a Troll with no problems. So I'm just wondering if something glitched out for this friend or if something is wrong on my end.

I have several accounts with horde an alliance together. There isn't a limitation to factions, only a limit to how many characters per account (10 is max).
