Thinking About Making a Guild Duel Leaderboard Addon – Would You Use It?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been tossing around the idea of creating a Guild Duel Leaderboard addon for wotlk, and I wanted to see if people would actually be interested in it before I dive in completely. Here’s the gist of what I’m planning:
What Is It?
This addon is meant for guilds that love a little competition. It tracks duel stats (wins, losses, and win rate) for everyone in your guild who uses the addon, and it creates a shared leaderboard that’s synced in real-time.
You’d be able to see who’s racking up wins, keep track of your own record, and maybe even spark some friendly rivalries in the guild.
How Does It Work?
Tracks Duels Automatically
Every time you win or lose a duel, the addon records it for you. No need to do anything manually.
Syncs with Guild Members
When you log in, the addon broadcasts your stats to other guild members using it and also asks for their data.
Everyone’s leaderboards update automatically, and it keeps syncing every 10 minutes to make sure everything stays fresh.
Shows a Fancy Leaderboard
Type /guildleaderboard to pull up a leaderboard that shows:
Player names
Wins
Losses
Win rate (as a percentage)
It sorts by the number of wins, so you’ll always know who’s dominating.
Uses Timestamps to Keep Data Accurate
The addon only updates stats if it’s newer than what’s already stored. This way, no outdated data messes things up.
