Will there be a period of time where the S1 gear is half price before S2 begins? (I believe it worked like this in standard blizz rendition)

Should we save our points or will it not matter because it will just roll into S2? (or maybe S1 becomes half price when S2 starts, but since points get wiped we'd want to spend them before this happens anyways)
